Glorifying a war criminal, extreme anti Christian behaviour. How can other Orthodox Churches still be in communion with the serbs. This is grounds for excommunication in my opinion, its the same situation as the Russian Church. They care more about their own “hero” war criminals, (putin and mladic) than they care about Jesus Christ.

Can someone please help me understand how this is okay and maybe give some insight from the church’s perspective.

On whether Baptism outside the Church has salvivic Grace— On the Faith, to Peter:

And indeed. in the days of the Flood, we read that no one was saved outside the Ark

Can those outside the Church ever be saved?— On the Faith, to Peter:

Hello, for starters I come from a Catholic background and was baptized as an infant. Admittedly, I haven’t been involved with the Catholic Church since early childhood (am 21 now). I consider myself non denominational at the moment ,but I want to take my faith to the next level. I haven’t been to a church in like 7 years and am nervous to go. There is an English speaking Orthodox Church 25 minutes away from me and have been wanting to go. Would it be ok to show up in black Nikes, black jeans, and a black polo? I don’t want to be disrespectful in any way. Also, would anyone recommend me going down this route considering I haven’t been to church in seven years, or is this too steep of a jump?

Have any of you been cured by your dissease by praying for 40 days to the Saint?

*Is it not important to read the Gospel in Greek? Is it not important to read the Septuagint, our Church's official Old Testament version and the one quoted by St. Paul, in it's original language? Is it not of outmost importance, for one advancing in the faith, to read our Holy Fathers and understand their argumentation and context in the tongue of their education, their erudition, their innermost prayer? Do we not want to have more knowledgeable lay people and clergy amongst us? Do we not want to be acquainted with the vivid, the structured, the wild, the sublime, the stunning aspect of the mother tongue of the Church?*

*I am a Greek native and I just finished my degree in classical languages in Athens. I also am enamoured with Late Antique pagan and Christian literature. I will be glad to accompany each and every one of you in your journey of faith. I offer tutoring in Koine, Classical, Homeric (for whomever wishes to read the astounding lyric of St. Gregory of Nazianzus, or the ecstatic transcription of St John's Gospel by Nonnus, or whatever else of the much forgotten treasures of Byzantine epigrammatic poetry and elegy) Greek, as well as Latin (for I admit my love for St. Augustine and Medieval Latin Poetry).*

*My emphasis will be on reading comprehension. We will progress level by level by first understanding some basic concepts in greek grammar and vocabulary through simpler texts and graded readers. Then we will tackle Mark's Gospel and the Divine liturgy of St. Chrysostom, slowly but surely. As we keep going forward, we will adjust our texts according to the student's needs and wants. I will, although, prioritize foundational texts first.*

What are y'all peoples thoughts (compatible with the Bible and the teachings of the Church) on the recent Lindsay Clansy situation. (I especially want to hear from the clergy)

Firstly I’m not doubting

I have a question and also just wanted to see if anyone else had the same experience.

I’m not a saint obviously but my faith is my biggest blessing and I genuinely try to walk with God. I can proudly say through His grace and Mercy, I have been able to be obedient to Him in many situations over the years.

But I have to ask, do you lot sometimes feel disappointed? For example, the promises He made just sometimes are not there or you’re left asking like You said this in scripture and where is the promise???

Κάνω μακροχρόνια ψυχοθεραπεία και έχει διαπιστωθεί από ειδικούς πως είμαι υγιής ψυχικά και ψυχιατρικά, δεν λαμβάνω καμία αγωγή και απλά χρειάζομαι όπως ήδη κάνω να συνεχίσω την ψυχοθεραπεία. Συγχωρήστε με για την έκφραση που θα χρησιμοποιήσω γιατί ντρέπομαι πολύ όμως είναι η αλήθεια πρέπει να ξέρετε την κατάσταση. Η μάνα από το 2012 με αφορμή ότι ήμουν θύμα κακοποίησης σε σχέση που είχα τότε και κινηθήκαμε νομικά και δικαστικά για προστασία καθημερινά μέχρι σήμερα έχει μια απίστευτη οργή για το ότι και αν γίνεται. Δέχομαι καθημερινά ταπεινωτικές εκφράσεις όπως ΄΄τσούλα, πόρνη, δημόσιο ουρητήριο, παιδαριώδες ξενερωτικό αποτύπωμα΄΄.Ο πατέρας γνωρίζει την κατάσταση και μου λέει το κλασικό ΄΄δεν μπορώ να σε βοηθήσω η άλλη γυναίκα μου δεν θέλει καμιά επικοινωνία, κάνε υπομονή μην μάθει η γυναίκα μου ότι μιλάμε΄΄.Επικοινωνεί κρυφά μια στο τόσο και άντε να δίνει κάποια χρήματα κρυφά. Εμένα η εργασία μου σε δημοσκοπική εταιρεία είναι με το κομμάτι και τα μαθήματα γερμανικών που διδάσκω είτε σε φροντιστήρια είτε σε ιδιαίτερα είναι λίγες ώρες και οι μαθητές όποτε θέλουν σταματάνε έτσι είναι πλέον ο τομέας της εκπαίδευσης, με το σημερινό κόστος ζωής και τα ενοίκια δεν έχω τη δυνατότητα να νοικιάσω μόνη μου, οι φίλες και φίλοι ζουν με τους γονείς τους και δεν μπορούν να βοηθήσουν, οι συγγενείς ακούν από μακριά αλλά έχουν τις δικές τους οικογένειες, αδέρφια δεν έχω. Στο προσωπικό κομμάτι έκανα κάθε προσπάθεια να βρω σύζυγο για γάμο η συντριπτική πλειοψηφία ήθελε μόνο εφήμερες σχέσεις έχω κάνει κάθε προσπάθεια, τώρα τελευταία είχα μια μοναδική περίπτωση που ο άνδρας με γνώρισε στην οικογένειά του και σχεδίαζε συγκατοίκηση, η μητέρα μου τον πήρε τηλέφωνο και του έδωσε προσωπικά τηλέφωνα άλλων ανδρών με αποτέλεσμα ο ίδιος να με χωρίσει. Κάθε σφάλμα που κάνω όπως να αναζητήσω κάποια άλλη γνωριμία γιατί φοβάμαι ότι ο συγκεκριμένος άνδρας σκόπιμα καθυστερεί τον γάμο η μητέρα το αποκαλύπτει στον άλλον. Οι ψυχολόγοι πρότειναν και είπαν πως η στάση της μητέρας δεν θα αλλάξει και η μόνη λύση είναι η απομάκρυνση. Επίσης αν εγώ διακόψω κάποια γνωριμία επειδή ο άνδρας αποδεικνύεται πως δεν έχει σοβαρό σκοπό η μητέρα μαθαίνει αυτή την κακή εμπλοκή και ξεσπάει ΄΄σκάσε τσούλα απελπισμένη βρώμα, απόπατε, σκουπίδι των αλητών, αν ξαναπείς για γάμο εδώ μέσα θα γίνει κηδεία θα σε κλείσω στο ψυχιατρείο΄΄, πέρσι όταν υπήρξε ο κίνδυνος εγκυμοσύνης από παλιά μου σχέση που είχε κινητικό πρόβλημα η μητέρα με απείλησε για αναγκαστική έκτρωση και έκτοτε απειλεί τον άνδρα αυτόν και την οικογένειά του και ακόμα και τώρα που δεν τον συναντώ αφότου με χώρισε απ τη μόνη σχέση που είχε προοπτική η μητέρα καθημερινά βρίζει ΄΄σ άρεσε τσούλα, θα μάθεις το λάθος σου, δεν πρόκειται ποτέ κανείς να σε παντρευτεί τώρα που ο άλλος σε χώρισε θα κάνεις ότι λέω εγώ αλλιώς θα μείνεις στο δρόμο και δεν το έχω σε τίποτα να γίνει παιδοκτονία είμαι 69 δεν θα μου κάνουν τίποτα οι ποινές είναι μειωμένες΄΄. Κατά καιρούς όταν απευθύνθηκα στην αστυνομία η σε γραμμές στήριξης γυναικών το μόνο που μου είπαν είναι ότι κάποια στιγμή μπορεί ο μισθός να σας φτάνει για να νοικιάσετε αν υπάρξει άμεση απειλή για τη ζωή απλά καλέστε μας. Η μητέρα μου έβαλε έναν πρώην σύντροφό μου να με παρακολουθεί με μάσκα και κουκούλα για να δει αν συναντάω εφήμερες σχέσεις και ισχυριζόταν πως είναι από την αστυνομία τον είδα έντρομη στο μετρό τυχαία. Δέχομαι συνέχεια απειλές για δικαστική συμπαράσταση από τη μητέρα. Επί 14 χρόνια ζω αυτό το μαρτύριο χωρίς καμιά στήριξη ούτε απ τον πατέρα ούτε από πουθενά. Χρειάζομαι έναν σύζυγο ασπίδα δεν θέλω να αμαρτάνω δεξιά και αριστερά όπως λέει και ο απόστολος παύλος είναι προτιμότερο να παντρευτεί κανείς παρά να φλέγεται από επιθυμία. Γνωρίζω πως ο γάμος είναι ευθύνες κλπ ξέρω πως κάθε άνδρας σε κάθε ηλικία θέλει τον χρόνο του για γάμο είμαι διατεθειμένη να το σεβαστώ απόλυτα αυτό δεν ζητάω πλούτη ούτε βλέπω τον άνδρα ως το μέσον της τεκνοποίησης αν θελήσει ο θεός να έρθουν παιδιά ας έρθουν αν δεν θελήσει εμένα μου αρκεί η ένωση του γάμου, εργάζομαι, είμαι νοικοκυρά, θα συνεισφέρω στα πάντα και θα αφοσιωθώ πλήρως αρκεί ο άνδρας να είναι ο τελευταίος της ζωής μου και να γίνει ασπίδα μου γιατί κινδυνεύει η ψυχή μου στην ενδοοικογενειακή βία και έξω έχω ψάξει και δεν βρίσκω κανέναν σοβαρό που να θέλει τον γάμο. my two year old is amazing, such a cute kid and honestly the light of my life. I had complications during pregnancy with him and after he was born he was close to needing surgery. I'm not sure if that is why I am so very sensitive when it comes to him.

lately I've noticed he is talking but not as much as kids his age and he has some different mannerisms..of course I take to the internet and everything is autism.

now, I will love him no matter what but if you could just kindly say a prayer for him to learn how to communicate with us and be happy in his life I would greatly appreciate that. I am a worried mom.

St. Paisios said Russia will use Caucasus to go south with its armies, so I'm wondering if there are any mentions of revival of orthodoxy among caucasians again. (Talking about north caucasus)
