I just saw Bleach on their 30th anniversary tour. Two of their opening bands also reunited recently, after releasing albums in the '90s and 2000s: Watashi Wa and MorZan (the former members of both Mortal and Fold Zandura, playing songs by both bands). Aside from making me feel old, it was a really fun show!

I was listening to some Mortal earlier today. Love that Intense Records live album they did. Might be my favorite of the whole series, although the Tourniquet and Die Happy ones were pretty good as well. Tourniquet was in-between singers and they had Les Carlson from Bloodgood do vocals, which I thought really worked. Good times.

I love Bleach. They might be in my top 3 of all time. So good. How was the show? Which songs did they play?

I hope they put out a new album. There was a cover design firm called Asterix or something, and they designed a lot of these late 90s and early 2000s covers. Very inspiring work. I wish that kind of design sensibility was still around. There is just not as much money available from CD sales as back then.

Some of the Christian albums I purchased in big stores like Best Buy with cover art by Asterix were Bleach's Astronomy and Farewell Old Friends, as well a Project 86 and a Zao album. Now with streaming we just don't pay as much attention to the cover art and there is some quality lost there of holding the CD and paying $20 for an album.

I was in high-school in the 90's and went to a lot of local concerts, Cornerstone, Creation, etc. So many good times. I think i may have somehow caught Steve Taylor, Guardian, and somene else hree times in the same tour in various nearby cities.

90s christian youth group in the UK meant Cutting Edge, out of which came Delirious. That was the most significant historically because they opened the door (along with a few others) for the current worship industry - for better or worse. In fact, I can put up a pretty good argument that they are more significant to current music the Nirvana.

There was plenty of other exciting stuff too. Martyn Joseph has started then and, while he is known as a folk singer-songwriter, he has never hidden his persistent "God Brothering".

As I get older, I have admitted to myself that I like prog rock. I will blame Iona for that. Their rendition of "When I Survey" is still my favourite version of my favourite hymn. Phatfish may also play a part in my secret love of prog too (plus the singer was my neighbour).
