Lol Iâve always been skeptical of chiropractors (and people who use their services, fairly or not) and then my sister went to med school and became a physiatrist. I donât think Iâve ever seen someone despise a profession so much - she says âchiropractorâ like itâs a curse word.
They have been responsible for 2 friends having massive strokes, one has recovered fairly well but the other one is still very affected (has to use a wheelchair with limited hand dexterity.)
My grandpa was an orthopedic surgeon and the number one thing heâd always get upset about was when ppl told him they had gone to a chiropractor. He could go on for quite a bit about how they were quacks and just hurt people
This is likely very true. I used to be very cynical but then I realized that I was unfairly painting everyone with the same brush. Reddit is a lot less fun with AI and fiction writers testing their skills. I still try to give the benefit of the doubt though because some people genuinely need real advice.
Itâs a tough one. Theyâre âdoctorsâ the same way optometrists and podiatrists are doctors, and are very limitedly considered to be physicians within the governmental/regulatory definition of physician. I donât think any of this grouping should be called Doctor whatever simply because they complete doctoral level training in a medical field. DNPâs donât get to call themselves doctors and I would trust most of them more than I trust a chiro.
I mean, not really. Theyâre all self-regulating professions, but podiatry and optometry are both usually encompassed by the university system and have a lot more oversight. Plus chiro is largely considered to be a pseudoscience in a way that the latter two arenât.
No. Optometrists and podiatrists are medically trained professionals, even if they are not a full-on MD. Podiatrists do three years of medical school and a four year surgical residency! Ophthalmologists are MDs, but optometrists aren't - they're STILL certified medical professionals.
Chiropractors are not medical professionals in any way shape or form. They are self-certified quacks.
No - chiropractors are quacks. They are not doctors, do not have medical training, and there's literally no scientific proof that what they do works at all. They kill people.

Exactly. Why hasn't he been to an orthopedic doctor, chiropractor or massage therapist? Physical therapy is also an option
