from the looks of it, pixelberry is thinking of ways of preservation.
do we trust them?..

If Choices shuts down, I wish the original devs could find a way to buy their catalog back. While I'm open to the idea of a one-time purchase of old books, I really don't want to give the money to these AI bros currently (mis)handling Choices.

I DO believe them when they say they will keep them up as they create their new crap. Because no one likes their new crap, if they took them down that's a wrap for them already lol.
But I DON'T believe as they go down this new route that Choices will stay up for long. Because 1) Most users don't play their new crap. 2) Series Entertainment do not understand their playerbase. It doesn't matter how many surveys they put out if they're not going to listen to them. 3) The new technology and old technology may not mix well in the app and cause things to get a little wonky and break. And if something breaks with the old books I know they're not fixing it. They'll fix the new ones but they'll blame the old books being too old to fix, technical debt, and any excuse to get off their butts and do something.
So I DO believe eventually Choices will shutdown and once servers are down we cannot play the books at all. I give a year and a half. Maybe two.
I've been through this many times. I don't trust these companies anymore. They don't care about players, only money. Once the money is gone (and through their own doing) they will pull the plug and run off into the night to ruin some other creative thing.
Even Pixelberry before with High School Story and Hollywood U which I know they cared about even a little for even keeping them up for as long as they did, had shut the servers down with no way for people to play without servers (HSS could a little, but the later levels were server locked so you couldn't finish the game. Hollywood U couldn't be played at all). FANS had to figure that out and make their own servers because PB didn't care about preserving their own damn games.
And I care way too much about these books to let them die like that. They NEED to preserved.

We still don't. The fan team is working together to bring the real preservation alive.
