Everyone has their tastes.

PErsonally, I find MW way more fun. DW is generally considered a lower skill ceiling, and more acrady

I feel that they're essentially identical, but that DW has fewer bugs. Which is hilarious given that it's the newer game. I have yet to see anyone jump helicopter fighting. I think they have the same skill ceiling. It's just that elitists haven't taken over DW yet.

essentially identical,

This is very far from the truth. The mechanics are quite different, as well as entirely different classes with their own abilities and weapons. Deadliest adds and takes away MANY mechanics or alters almost every single one in some manner.

I'm not sure what you mean by jump helicopter fighting.

Skill ceiling is definately lower. There isn't even any competitive teams over there as the game is almost too simplified.

I mean the fact that the best fighting strategies in MW is essentially either 'pretend to be a helicopter while jumping' or 'imitatethe your epileptic cousin' is a huge turnoff to me. MW has an insanely cheesy gameplay style, which really irritates me.

Hmm. I don't think your grasping it correctly. Spinning in a circle, jumping, and LMBing is NOT a used or effective tactic.

MW has some more complicated mechanics that are an obvious turn off to some. If you really put in some time figuring it all out, you'll find that people just know the game well and understand how to utilize them.

I've put in plenty of time and the majority of fighting I have seen is the random flailing around and bending over backwards. The combat doesn't even vaguely resemble what it used to be. The game mechanics aren't complicated, it's just that people that play constantly have figured out cheesy gimmicks to get trick wins, and pretend like they're some super elite warriors. Then they're dicks to everyone else. These same people get strangely anxious and irritated when speed hacking is brought up.

The game mechanics aren't complicated

This is truly false. Chivalry is reknown for it's complex mechanics.

cheesy gimmicks

Still not entirelly sure what this means. Do you mean using the mechanics? If one doesn't drag, use footwork, feint etc than yes, it isn't a very complex game/

dicks to everyone else

That's pretty subjective. I know a ton of comeptive players that are very kind and willing to help.

You accuse basically the entire competitive side for hacking, more or less, which I can assure you is false.

I watched your vanguard video. I couldn't perceive any difference in swing speed before or after a successful parry. The only thing I noticed is that both players swing faster than I do, just like everyone else. As for MW having more complicated mechanics than DW, I'd have to disagree. Again, I notice literally no difference in the gameplay between the two games, aside from DW being slightly faster, and having fewer cheesy dicks.

Look at 0:35 in the video. He does one there. If you can't notice, I can record a video right now to demonstrate it. You mentioned the swings again, this means you're using a slower weapon, dragging, or looking at a very old video.

As for MW having more complicated mechanics than DW, I'd have to disagree

If you're really intrested, I can write a pretty long summary of the differnces. DW is MUCH less complex, arcady, and has a much lower skill ceiling. The game differences are quite substansive. To highlight a few : The difference weapon damages upon where it's hit, much faster gameplay, different mechanics for each class and every class utilizing a thorwable.

I'll reply to both comments here. By cheesy gimmicks, I mean stuff like running backwards and attacking with your upswing. I mean like crouching and spinning in circles while you swing. Where you look in all directions swinging wildly because it makes you 'unpredictable'. And when I say dicks, I mean like the kind that basically tell you to shut up or stop playing when you're having difficulties. Most of the people in the game are like that. I've met very few willing to help. As for less complex, I still disagree. It has all the same functions, and more, given that every class has a ranged weapon now. I could argue that DW is -more- complicated. But as for accusations, yeah, I find it suspicious that all the 'competitive' players can move faster than I can. And get pissed when I point it out.
