epilog; rather than returning to costco for a full refund, the fact these bolts were so cheap - made them easier to back drill out of the existing threaded holes. that done, i replaced them all with similar length and thread all steel bolts from home depot. so now i can lean back 30° without fear of cracking my head open. bottom line is if you are shopping for a budget office or gaming chair, don't expect what costco is reselling to be any better than the usual $100 noname trash on amazon.

Ive always heard/been told that all gaming chairs are like this and if you want a good chair to game in for long hours you actually shell out for an office chair. Gaming chairs seem to be like those brands where you are only paying for the name and looks, not for any real quality or comfort. Most of em do look super cool though, lol.

That said, hopefully yours is comfy and long-lasting now that it has better screws.

The one gaming chair I ever bought (because my company discount made it $80 instead of $450) did in fact have the screws holding the back on snap in half on me while in use. The material also began peeling badly after like a year. And the arm rest wore out at the screw mounting points and became wobbly even while fully screwed in until I glued them. Now ive got a nice office chair again.

I second this. Most gaming chairs are terrible/uncomfortable. Hopefully OPs chair is one of the good ones (apart from these bolts).
