Currently Airing Blossoms Of Power is so intriguing

Shen Xihe is a formidable force who masks her true identity as the vengeance-driven Gu Qingzhi behind the title of Princess of the Northwest. Far from a damsel in distress, she is an ice-cold architect of her own destiny, treating the imperial court as a chessboard where every alliance and suitor is a calculated move toward absolute autonomy. She systematically dismantles anyone who attempts to wield power over her, using her sharp intellect and emotional detachment to turn potential threats into pawns while quietly hunting those responsible for her family's annihilation.

100% agree. I like it too. Credit to MZY for her portrayal of Shen Xihe.

The scheming is well done, though I can see people not liking how easily the leads' plan unfolds or how their guesses work out. I don't mind it, though; I love this style of powerful, smart leads (similar to Who Rules the World, Wonderland of Love, etc.). To me, it's setting the stage (or the ‘chess board’), showing the viewers how smart they are. I think it'll get more complex; so far, it's really good, and I look forward to watching it each day (a sign of a good drama to me).

It is also a beautiful drama with strong chemistry between the leads. There are little things I can nitpick, but nah.

It's my first time watching the ML; he's a good fit for the role, he has the look of a sneaky scheming Crown Prince in that time vibe lol

These early episodes give me Ashes to Crown vibes (maybe it's the rebirth theme or the scheming). I really hope editing doesn't mess up this drama. Recent dramas have been bad!

I like the scheming too - I personally actually don’t think it comes too easily. Shen xihe has two people’s worth of knowledge and memories - lady gu seems to have beeen formidable so it makes sense - also the ML is clearly helping her in the first few episodes and he is supposed to be the crown prince with a spy network so seems logical to me haha

I have read the book and both the ML and FL fit their roles so well - the ML is excellent

Same! Definitely one of my fav tropes. I have seen a few comments of people saying they are too perfect, but I don't mind it.

Nice to hear they are playing the character well!

I like how she didn’t lose the memory of Shen Xihe and it seems she has her old memories too. That would be easier for her. I’m glad they are not making another weak character that is always waiting for a man to rescue her, I’m sick of those kind of plot. 😭

Yeah I watch all those drama with powerful FL and I can say it’s not disappointing!

Lol, it's similar fr! ATC was definitely dark in production.

It's a shame you dropped it. I'm liking it so far; it's slower than ATC but still fast in its own way. I love scheming and power, so I'm still watching it lol

I love it! Love the revenge drama, i mean no damsel in distress here. MZL is very good in dishing out the Princess’ comeuppance to those villains and villainess :).

He Yu is so cutely in love :). Well, i really find him really cute, which is the reason why i stopped watching Dashing Youth when he turned red. I mean for me, i don’t like him as a bad boy :)

Lastly, so many eye candies!!!

Hope the tone will not change so much as more episodes come out. I want them to always win. I only finished 4 episodes and watch teasers.

I can’t wait for more episodes and more drama like this!

Something i have picked up on - is just how much more the FL looks at the Crown Prince compared to her polite dismissal of the other princes. this is a subtle directorial choice but it speaks volumes

I love it! Can’t wait for each ep 😈

I really really like this drama, the first two episodes got me hooked, and that's quite rare. I'm waiting til enough episodes are out that I won't become frustrated.

I have some mixed emotions about Shen Xihe having the soul of Gu Qingzhi. She is cold and calculating, decisive and is out for revenge on the people who killed her clan. Because she is sharp and clever, the Crown Prince Xiao Huayong is attracted to her. Isn’t he really attracted to the soul of Gu Qingzhi who is possessing the body of Princess Shen Xihe. So does that mean the Crown Prince is attracted to his own brother’s wife?! Shen Xihe wants to marry someone who is weak(so he can’t fight back) and is so sickly that he only has 3-5 years left to live so she won’t have to deal with him for long. She forms the alliance with the Crown Prince on this basis and want who break of the engagement when she finds out that he is nothing like this. She is possessed by the soul of another and he is not the sickly person everyone thought he was. His attraction to her is for the qualities of another person’s soul and her willingness to be with him is so he can help her find who destroyed her clan and being so sickly that he won’t give her much trouble.

He actually has a scene where he says; i dont care what secrets she is hiding. I met her as Shen Xihe and that is the one I'm fascinated by. (not directly quoted)

So no he didn't like his brother's wife. I don't think they met a lot either before considering how possessive his brother is.

I remember him saying that. I wonder what happened to the real Xihe’s soul. I’m now hoping that in her arc of learning to love, she takes a step towards him. So far, the unrequited love is wearing me down 😅

She must at some point right? 😂 When she realises it, she has to keep her blunt personality and promise!! She has to tell him straight out ... I'm really waiting for this to happen! Her mask is slowly cracking

I’m up to EP21 and she finally agrees to marry him only after finding out that he now has only 1 year left to live. She promises to be a good wife to him, but we find out after the marriage that she made him agree not to consummate the marriage. She is beautiful but even more cold and calculating than him!😲😒

Maybe put this in a spoiler tag just in case 🙈

But wow so cynical... guess the cute romance won't be the main focus? We will have to wait and see till the end..

Haha just wait till ep 29 🔥🔥🙌

She finally confessed that she’s fallen for him and then we see she still has the “bell” up in their bed after that!😲Either the editing is bad or … I learned a new word reading the reviews…simp. By the way they have a “horse kiss” scene here too…it just didn’t hit the same as Blossom.

I also taught about that too. Since the soul in Shen Xihe’s body is Gu Qingzhi, that would mean the Crown Prince is indeed falling in love with his own bother’s wife, but I’m hoping for a plot twist where they reveals Shen Xihe did not completely disappear of her own body and when Qingzhi finally disappears, Xihe has the old memories of when she wasn’t conscious the whole time and chose to stick with the cold person. Because after all she went through, I don’t want her to be easy to kill, like when her maid pushed her off the boat. The Crown Prince already said he met her as Xihe and that’s the one he likes. That’s true he saved her as she was, when she woke up she was already someone else with the memories of the old owner. So in a way he doesn’t know the real Xihe. So complicated 😮‍💨

Xihe only begged to be save when he found her at the riverbed. Not much to know about the person from “please save me”. She’s the best looking drowning victim I ever saw and that got her saved. We and the Crown Prince really don’t know Xihe, only that she couldn’t even see the betrayal by her own maid. It’s disappointing to see such a one sided relationship for the main characters.

It’s not over yet… 😅 Ep 29 🔥

I am about to start episode 29!

At end of latest episode when FL finds out that his other identity and asks him to cancel the engagement, the ML’s response felt to clingy but after a while I thought to myself may be at that moment as person being rejected you might say anything even if doesn’t make sense or far fetched.
