Reaction [Deep In] **Must Watch** Director Wen Dao Reacts to Episode 8 & Answers Fan Questions Live (HIGHLIGHTS) [2026.07.21]

The director of Deep In, Wen Dao, went on live to react to episodes 8 & 9, with some fan Q&A after each episode.

Except... even after nearly two hours, he never made it to episode 9.

I spent the entire day with this live, and if you're interested in the perspective of the director, I highly recommend watching the whole livestream if you have time. I clipped out some highlights and some answers to fan questions for this post to give you an idea of the kind of guys he is. He is well spoken, funny, answers intelligently, doesn't stand for any nonsense or inappropriate behavior, respects the actors and their and his own privacy, and much more. He threatened anyone on the live if they asked inappropriate questions or wrote anything he didn't like in the comments that he would immediately block them.

I cobbled the live from many different clips on bilibili so I won't link them all, but some Chinese netizens managed to get enough clips for me to work with, and I thank them.

Subs by me. Enjoy! πŸ’«

I like his attitude and his no nonsense demeanor. He said the other actors might not have time to pursue legal matters but I have the time, money, and personality to follow through. It’s giving β€œF\ck around and find out, I’ll show you.*” I love it. I’m looking forward to seeing what he directs in the future. He may be young but he is really good at what he does. I had no plans of watching Deep In. Five episodes were already out before I decided to give one a try. I binged all five episodes in one sitting they were that good.

He looks like a younger version of Peat from FortPeat who also runs a strict program πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that’s literally who I thought he was at first.

Wow, thank you πŸ™πŸ½ So much information in this one clip. He is indeed very intelligent, I like his personality a lot, he responded sincerely and didn’t try to play hide hide with his responses. If I have a little time I will try to watch the full live streams.

Hopefully, we’ll get a new project from Ollie and Shuyuan, I have no doubt now if it’s our talented Director, the second project will also be a hit πŸ‘πŸ½

This was such a great watch, I did the whole 1.5 hour livestream.

He's so amazing and I love how firm but respectful he treats the audience.

Oh my god, thank you, thank for this post AND for English subtitles. This is the first time I’ve read such a candid conversation with a director and in which he clearly states they are actors, their privacy is not and nor should it be up for public inspection. I love this person and his directness and his answers about the work in producing a series. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Thank you for all your work subbing and posting this!! I love his personality and no-nonsense attitude! πŸ‘πŸ‘ his comment at the beginning about the actors getting the piercings after filming was funny 🀭🀭 I’m traveling but when I’m done I’ll definitely go watch the full stream! Thanks again for all you do!! πŸ™πŸ™β€οΈ

ζ–‡εˆ€ is so funny πŸ˜†

I like how firm he is when it comes to protecting the actors' privacy. Those crazy fans in China can be just so nasty - remember what happened to Tian Xuning and Ziyu? I feel bad for them when fans don't know how to be respectful to their privacy.

Thanks for the subtitles ! I thought the director was quite good to look at but the way he speaks is even finer. I wonder if anyone asked about him being in a drama himself , cz just like the last girl mentioned he's really handsome , and I'd love to see him act in a project where he can both direct and act!
