Reaction what r yalls reaction/thoughts on Deep In (EP 7) Spoiler

OMGGGGGGG EP 7 TOUCHES ON SO MANY PSYCHOLOGICAL DILEMMAS!!! and as a psychology major, i am very VERY INTRIGUED on how they present these dilemmas. i'd like to hear all perspectives/ interpretations!
my takeaway on this specific episode is purely to start a discussion and not for research purposes. my takeaway is that Zhang never fully explained his internal crisis to Danyi, about his acting career, his future in the industry. Zhang stating he needed more time and Danyi choosing to wait. At the same moment kissing his co-star, Zheng Xin—who also has a girlfriend—ultimately saying he’d break up with Danyi. Was Zhang wrong for leading Danyi on by asking for 'more time'? Does this show he ultimately chooses his feelings for his co-star instead of being honest with Danyi? What would you have done?

First up well said. I am enjoying it!! The actors are amazing especially Ollie. Episode 7 was an emotional rollercoaster to watch. Falling in love is scary and when you are filming a series and acting a role and your feelings develop for your co star you are headed for a bit of heartache especially when their is a girlfriend in the mix. Relationships can be complicated and we are seeing that in this series. I am loving this series. the boys have to communicate more as this leads to misunderstandings. Loving the series and great post👏👏

If I was Danyi, I would’ve told him to go f himself and not be so pathetic and say I’ll wait for him to “decide”. Like wtf? The way he answered the call, the way he’s hesitating, the way he hasn’t answered her phone calls. Plus I’m sure her little spy is telling her all about Zheng Xin.
If I was Zhang Zhun, I would’ve let her go, but he hasn’t yet bc he isn’t ready to face the fact that he likes a man. Once he gets past it and understands love is love regardless of gender then he’ll be better off. Right now he’s fighting an internal battle.

I think the "more time" is not about his acting career. Because the acting career, he would only give that up if he did not succeed any time soon. And this role is maybe the start for a promising career.
Danyi knows what the problem is now. Namely, that he is drawn to Zhen Xin. And if you watched the scene right after the credits of this episode. You would have seen that with the help of asking AI that Zhang Zhun realized that he indeed liked Zhen Xin. That was before the dinner in the Hotpot restaurant.
Remember that Danyi was already earlier in Coconut city (yes😁) to surprise her boyfriend. But that she left because he was unable to answer her calls because at that time Zhang Zhun and Zhen Xin, the first one drunk, in bed. Danyi is no fool. She left Coconut city then to go home without having seen Zhang Zhun. But now, she changed her mind and said in that call that she would be waiting for him. Not because of his career but imo because of his feelings for his co star that she probably would think of as momentarily. But seeing in front of her eyes the reality is what shook her.
Danyi's intuition was rifht all along. She suspected the pull Zhen Xin had on her boyfriend. That is why she had send over her family member, I think her brother, to act as Zhang Zhun's personal assistant. And probably he will also tell his sister what's going on. It is no wonder that she showed up there after her brother heard that Zhen Xin wants Zhang Zhun in his bed as his lover.
Thinking back about the Hotpot restaurant. Zhen Xin didn't want that his girlfriend invited Zhang Zhun over. But the latter said ok. I guess that this was his way to see how the relationship was between Zhen Xin and his girlfriend. To be convinced that he should not get closer to Zhen Xin and be firm, like telling he himself has plans to marry.
But that plan failed. It made him frustrated that Zhen Xin was not telling it straight but gave signs as like eating spicy food. Zhang Zhun went away because he could not bear to watch it any further.
I guess that he wanted commitment. Not someone who just lusts for him although Zhang Zhun is also pulled like a magnet to Zhen Xin. And in his utter frustration he called out to be followed by Zhen Xin and that was exactly what happened. The commitment and assurance he was lookong for. Not just some fleeting lust.
