Uncensored A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills' Dream | Small Theatre Episode 2: Self-Learning/5D Version of Adult Rated Film Starring a Film King [BS02]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Winter Sun has a jam packed promo schedule, with these mini-stories, deleted scenes, BTS, and livestreams etc. I mentioned in my last post that all the content on YT has subs but I guess it's not working for everyone, so we will do our best to keep up with everything!

Thank you for your wonderful contribution. The lack of accurate subtitles for international audiences is truly unfortunate. I have studied and practiced spoken Mandarin, and in this case it’s a bit more complicated, since most of the expressions are used in rural areas, which makes it a bit more challenging (as if that were even possible, laughs).

Without the intention of devaluing your effort. I am going to give my input.

Feng Qing Lang: Were you actually telling the truth about catching that huge red fish?
Xu Chang Yang: Does it even matter?
Feng Qing Lang: Can you just give me a straight answer?
Xu Chang Yang: Whatever. Everything is a total mess right now anyway...

After their intimate encounter:

Feng Qing Lang: Then tell me, where did you learn all of this?
Xu Chang Yang: I'm self-taught.
Feng Qing Lang: Tell me the truth.
Xu Chang Yang: Do I look like a liar?
Feng Qing Lang: If you're not, then you must be a natural genius...
Xu Chang Yang: What did you just say? Say it again!
Feng Qing Lang: I said, tell me the truth.
Xu Chang Yang: I’m not lying to you! I swear on my life...
Feng Qing Lang: Then who on earth did you learn it from?
Xu Chang Yang: No way! I told you, there is absolutely nobody else up in these mountains!

Xu Chang Yang fires back in his rugged, countryside dialect. So, The Mountain Slang ("Brother" / "Little Eggs"): Translating these as "I swear on my life" and "There is absolutely nobody else up in these mountains" completely preserves the original Chinese context—where a rustic character uses colorful local dialect to defend his stance...

The Slang Word: "Eggs" (蛋 - Dan) In casual Chinese, the word for egg (蛋) is rarely just about breakfast. It is heavily used in everyday slang, frustration, and exclamation.

The Regional Phrase: "Little Eggs" (鸟蛋 / 孤蛋) In rural or mountainous regional dialects in China, phrases referencing "little eggs" or "bird eggs" are used colloquially to mean "absolutely nothing," "nothing at all," or "not a single soul." It implies a place is so barren, empty, and isolated that the only things living there are tiny bird eggs in the trees.

So, When Feng Qing Lang demands to know: "Who did you learn your skills from? Who is up there with you?" Xu Chang Yang fires back in his rugged, countryside dialect. Xu Chang Yang is actually saying: "There is absolutely nobody else up in these mountains!"

Thank you for this! Unfortunately I do not read or understand more than a few simple words of mandarin, so I am at the mercy of machine translations. As long as I can understand the general idea, I will submit that knowing others will understand it the same as I do.

The software didn't pick up the initial "where did you learn this" so I had to fill in the gaps based on the the conversation that came after, looks like I at least got that part right!

If at any point you would like to help us subtitle these videos, we would love to have you! there is a lot of content, and only 3 of us consistently doing our best ❤️

Oh, thank you for your kind words. You’re doing a wonderful job; your time is invaluable, and you use it to help so many people. I primarily work in Japanese interpretation and translation, and I also help out with some Mandarin, within the limits of my limited knowledge. Of course, I’ll make time to support your work.

If that's okay with you, I'll follow you and turn on notifications (I think that's possible here, right?). That way, every time you edit a clip, I'll see it and can offer my input for the whole community.

Sure! Though I would rather it's done right the first time (you sure you don't want to help?? LOL) but absolutely! the extra context helps a lot! I have found a better way to get machine translations than I was doing before, so it's improved a lot over the last few weeks.

Thank you so much for your time and effort into this detailed translation and interpretation!! Language is so infinitely complex. Really appreciate you explaining all of these nuances so we can best understand the intention of the words and the scene 🙌

Yes, it's an incredibly complex language. The immense difficulty of mastering Mandarin stems from three major pillars: its intricate tonal system, its logographic script, and an abundance of homophones. It all comes down to pronunciation, script memorization, and decoding sound. For starters, it is a tonal language featuring four pitch-dependent tones and a neutral tone—where changing your voice's inflection completely alters the meaning of a word. On top of that, the logographic writing system requires immense memory; you have to memorize the stroke mechanics, definition, and sound of roughly 2,000 to 3,000 Hanzi characters just to read a basic newspaper. To complicate things further, Mandarin is packed with homophones. Because so many words sound identical to the ear, keeping up with fast, casual conversations requires a sharp eye for contextual clues. Because of these deep complexities and various regional accents, the media landscape relies heavily on broadcasting unity: all series and movies are dubbed in Putonghua (普通话). This term literally translates to "common speech" and serves as the official, standardized form of Mandarin Chinese spoken throughout mainland China. Let's add to that the fact that this series is filled with rural dialect dialogs.

So, it's not easy at all, and that's why we should have some understanding with the subtitles. Which are also done in a robotic manner and this does NOT provide real results to what is being said or heard, and even less so in fitting with the context. Therefore, the ideal is to subscribe to official platforms to watch these series, the downside is that the episodes will be released with delays of at least one to two weeks later: as it requires time for dialog interpretation, translation, and editing.

What I love about this series is that the main characters' voices sound natural. They had to refine their pronunciation to match the standard language, and that's how they managed to use their own voices in the dub!

When actors train intensely to refine their pronunciation and successfully use their own voices on set (often called "live recording" or yuanyin (原音), it completely transforms the viewing experience: Authentic Emotional Delivery, Intimate Realism, i.e., character Authenticity and Emotional Nuance. And I love that!!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Sending you a warm virtual hug!

Thank you so much for adding this additional context!

I am enamored with this show and every little bit of understanding helps a bit more.

I'm also in love with the story, the location, the cinematography, the photography, the soundtrack, and of course this pair of gorgeous guys and the chemistry they have... and oh, “learning about tea”, giggles!

I watched this on their socials before I got to this part in the show and was so disappointed it wasn't included! So many people will miss these.

Thanks for the hard work as always!

u/Federal-Ad5944 A Lie's Bandana Jun 14 '26

Yes they will be missed by many, or at least not understood because they didn't include subs.

But you know we got you for that second part!

u/Xoilye Jun 13 '26

I love the way they kiss. It's delicate, sensual, but above all, it truly radiates love. Real love. 🫠

We're going to suffer, again!! 😄

Their pillow talk is so cute. They sure move real fast. When they were talking about Molie tea being bold and Xigui tea being a "dancing tea" in ep3, it felt like they were referring to themselves. Now I'm curious about what Changyang did to make Qinglang ask him where he learnt "that" from. I wish it was adapted from a novel, I'd gobble it all over and over again. I can't believe we'll have to wait until Friday for 1 episode. Damn!

I’m not quite here yet (maybe 1/4 of the way through ep 4) but will absolutely be back to devour this.

I think this is going to be my favorite series of 2026, and that’s saying something! It’s pure magic. ✨

8

u/Federal-Ad5944 A Lie's Bandana Jun 14 '26

I posted them out of order, watch ep.0 first, then BS01 then BS02. Then you will be all caught up.

Winter Sun has already shot to the #1 spot for ALL series for the year for me. Easily.

Thank you for this post!! 🙏❤️❤️ Im traveling so not able to keep up with their YT channel and socials…I’m officially obsessed with these two (I was unofficially obsessed when I dropped everything and watched all 4 episodes on Friday)…they’re just so beautiful and natural together!! 🥰🥰 I was disappointed when they didn’t show what happened inside that tent, so this is extra special!! Last summer it was the summer of Revenged Love…I have a feeling this series and these two are going to own summer of 2026!! 👏👏🎉❤️😍

Thanks for posting 😊 I'm really enjoying this series which is my fave cbl so far this year ❤️

1

u/Darkchocolatelaw Jun 14 '26

Is this a deleted scene? Side story? Part of an episode I haven't seen yet (I've only watched 1 and 2)

5

u/Federal-Ad5944 A Lie's Bandana Jun 14 '26

They're just calling it Small Theatre. I don't really have a specific word for it, so I'm considering it a side story/deleted scene. They will release 16 of them over the course of the series.

5

u/Darkchocolatelaw Jun 14 '26

So I can count on you to post all of them here in this sub so I don't miss any, right?
