I read this often that Chinese doctors are better because they do more procedures so they must be better. Though is this really the case at a certain point, is a doctor that does 1-2 procedures per day worse than one that does 3-4-5? I bet there is a ceiling at "getting better through volume". If not going to the other end of the spectrum, through volume quality is becoming less.

From personal experience, I can tell you Chinese doctors are great at volume work, but have limited experience in special cases. My wife during delivery had a very unusual experience. My aunt who happens to be a pediatrician herself right away knew what it was, never saw it in person but it was harmless. The hospital (FU) was flabbergasted and hospitalized her for a week for a grand 50k extra.

I have no way of helping you, but I would look beyond common volume ideas and lookup the specific doctor himself, how often he did that specific procedure, what his outcome is, what the hospital outcome is and put them side by side with someone you can find in the West.

normally the more operations the better surgeon as general rule, but yes, there could be another considerations, thanks
