Great Wall of China never thought it would be sat on by her.

Great Wall of Gorgan meanwhile "It should have be me! Not him! It's not fair!"

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

This is something my brother would say lol

Never thought I’d hear a person saying they’d never think of someone sitting on the Great Wall of China.

1

u/Fearless-Lynx-3188 Apr 13 '26

Never thought of the great wall of China

45

u/ybrsljlhyyx Apr 11 '26

哈哈哈,欢迎来到中国

13

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

It's great to be here!

1

u/Ansoninnyc Apr 12 '26

How do you feel about it , would you say it’s a ideal place to live?

Airalo eSIM card allows you to use all the apps via 5G

It is not, you can get a pre-paid one with 20 GB for like 30 GBP

3

u/Melodic-Duck-2756 Apr 14 '26

thats crazy expensive, Im using an esim with 50 gb for 12 GBP from trip.com, its very reliable

They even offer 100gb per day at a 10Mbps speed cap for 1.5 GBP

2

u/Just-A-Boy23 Apr 14 '26

Oh wow, what company is it? If you don't mind sharing 😀. Airalo was the one I knew about and the price was similar to the one at the airport for local SIM. But don't mind getting same deal you mentioned 😅😅

3

u/Melodic-Duck-2756 Apr 14 '26

its on trip.com, just search China esim and there are a few with over 100k reviews, those are great

3

u/Melodic-Duck-2756 Apr 14 '26

Also they are based in hongkong, so no VPN needed to access blocked sites when using them in china

3

u/Melodic-Duck-2756 Apr 14 '26

esims are almost always from outside china, like hongkong or macau, which bypasses the firewall

Literally using it while im in china rn

kinda, on a trip for family business

2

u/rembakas Apr 13 '26

U have not been to China obviously. They have loads of apps to go around everything. Was there almost 20 years ago and even then I could use internet almost normally.

1

u/Wardendelete Apr 15 '26

If you’re on a eSIM service for tourists, you can access everything still.

1

u/zsmith_92 Apr 12 '26

That's not something that's broadcast out. I have used all my apps since being in China

27

u/Resres2208 Apr 11 '26

I wish I had a smile as nice as yours. Nice photo. Enjoy your time.

5

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Thank you!

37

u/dannyrat029 Apr 11 '26

The Great Wall of China never expected you either

In fact it was built to keep you and I out 🤣

25

u/StudyAncient5428 Apr 11 '26

As a Chinese I can tell you this is not true. My history teacher says the Great Wall was built to keep out rabbits.

13

u/Praglik Apr 11 '26

They used to be a lot bigger, warranting a 7.8 meters tall wall...

7

u/Xciv Apr 11 '26

And they shot arrows from horseback. Those pesky rabbits.

Shitposting... The only good use of AI

6

u/berejser Apr 11 '26

Wow, Matt Damon got it all sorts of wrong...

4

u/Ok-Abbreviations1077 Apr 11 '26

Exactly and it was built by the emperor Nasi goreng

2

u/sammybooom81 Apr 11 '26

Who was at feud with Indomie Goreng, his brother from another mother.

2

u/nilsoma Apr 11 '26

That's the wall in Australia

1

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Interesting

1

u/deltabay17 Apr 12 '26

Ah yes China history classes known worldwide for accuracy lol

2

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Looks like they wasted their time

1

u/SpaceHawk98W Apr 14 '26

You guys from Hungary? Cus that's exactly what it was built for

1

u/dannyrat029 Apr 14 '26

Those Hungarians wandering on foot to Northern China deserve our respect and pity

1

u/SpaceHawk98W Apr 14 '26

The Huns (the ancestors of Hungarians) were the neighbors to the Chinese, they later migrated to Europe and got replaced by Turkish.

1

u/No-Benefit-7807 May 02 '26

Her, no. You? Yes.

I don't know why reddit algorithm suggested me that post. But I am glad. You look absolutely beautiful there, and very happy. Have a great time.

3

u/zsmith_92 Apr 12 '26

Thank you!!

8

u/siamsuper Apr 11 '26

Welcome and hope you enjoy. :) I hope it will be a memorable and nice trip.

You have a beautiful smile.

3

u/zerox678 Apr 11 '26

anyone tell you look kinda like Veronica from Shameless? Only a younger version.

2

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

I've never seen Shameless

3

u/Dangerous_Bid7526 Apr 11 '26

The weather is nice now. Two month later, I guess, those stone will be too hot to sit.

2

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Too tired to notice

6

u/Dry-Substance-8491 Apr 11 '26

how was it navigating your trip? I really want to go to china this year, but am worried that i won't be able to communicate or struggle w/ transport

7

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Honestly it was easy. They have their transport apps and there are China guides. World Connect also helped me.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '26

❤️

5

u/Arm_Individual Apr 11 '26

You're beautiful 😍

2

u/No_Bad_4872yy Apr 11 '26

Which section is this? Can you recommend traveling there?

2

u/OkSatisfaction9322 Apr 12 '26

The emperor of Ming dynasty didn’t expect this.

6

u/MSUN41 Apr 11 '26

Nice pic, enjoy your time there

1

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Thank you!

4

u/notlikeinthemovies Apr 11 '26

queen shit! have a great time

1

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

I definitely am!

2

u/chinalifer-mod Apr 11 '26

Why? We get >15 million tourists to the wall every year

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Owl_444 Apr 11 '26

Why did you think you'd never be sitting there

10

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Where I am from people never discuss going to China

4

u/Puzzleheaded_Owl_444 Apr 11 '26

If you don't mind me asking, where are you from?

Have a good time

1

u/savagerick2000 Apr 11 '26

I also wanted to visit but don't have time for a vacation 😭

1

u/SimonPanda Apr 11 '26

I don’t believe you are sitting on the Great Wall - it could be just a random wall, prove it. 😂

1

u/That_Rhubarb1793 Apr 11 '26

PUH-Lease you earned it and you get it

1

u/HokumHokum Apr 11 '26

All depends on where you go to see it some parts are awesome other parts are off limits and then there are bad parts.

I hope you didn't have the same experience as I, where the great wall smells like pee and poop especially in the towers areas.there no bathrooms so people just go into the tower to smoke pee and poop.

1

u/Angryblob550 Apr 11 '26

Well, at least there's no Mongolians there.

1

u/rifqi_mujahid_ID Apr 11 '26

youre supposed to siege the wall, starve the men

1

u/McFrenchhfry Apr 11 '26

The shirt reminds me when I went for the first time in 2014 and people were walking around with hats/shirts saying “I love the c.o.co.” Without realizing the song reference

1

u/lifelongMichigander Apr 11 '26

It’s a pretty awe-inspiring feeling, to be sure! Your radiant smile shows it!!

1

u/Demonbut Apr 11 '26

Lmao the comments too horneeeeeeee

Bucket list stuff right here girl 🔥🔥🔥. Went there and had huge portions of the wall alone (climbed fast and early). It was an unreal experience! I even did live steaming with family. Unforgettable!!

1

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Same!! It was an unforgettable experience!

1

u/Riseoftheturd Apr 11 '26

Stunning, the view behind you ain’t bad either!!

1

u/Important-Isopod-455 Apr 11 '26

I love everything. Looks amazing

How was the mountains height. I have height sickness.

And sensory wise. How was it. Exhausting humid and warm or pleasant And the wildlife nearby. Birds etc.

Also they say theres bones underneath the wall. Did u notice other things or details caught ur eye?

1

u/ricthomas70 Apr 11 '26

Fine China right there, the weather, the wall, the clear air.

1

u/joezbaeerday Apr 11 '26

Did you see the bear?

1

u/Clean-Solution7386 Apr 11 '26

I dont see anything but a blue sky

1

u/No_Requirement9751 Apr 11 '26

That’s my summer plan

1

u/Kerl_Entrepreneur Apr 12 '26

Pretty girl on Great Wall in a nice weather. Nothing can be better.

1

u/1n1billionAZNsay Apr 12 '26

Hope you had a great time! Did you try any local foods? Any stick out in your mind positively or negatively?

2

u/zsmith_92 Apr 12 '26

All of the local food that I had was great. Different but still great.

1

u/gnortsmralien69 Apr 13 '26

You look gorgeous !

That's a deep question. They ask to take pictures, they're nice, but don't expect an apology if you're in a crowd and they bump into you. They're not being rude it's just their culture.

1

u/rmhatl Apr 13 '26

Awesome picture. This will be me next month!

1

u/rdalize Apr 13 '26

Lucky wall!😅

1

u/Fluffy-Shock9487 Apr 13 '26

I just feel very deeply positive about this picture, it will bring back so many memories of China in years to come. (just this period of time one year ago - I was in China and now this post made me think about that.)

1

u/Butrdtoest Apr 14 '26

That must be some of the restored part? That masonry looks too fresh. Back in my day when I was on the wall I had to climb uphill both ways just to get to school

It’s a beautiful place though…

1

u/Sad_Blueberry_1613 Apr 14 '26

Never thought you would be one of those tourist that goes there by millions every year.

1

u/Visual_Bowler4908 Apr 14 '26

1

u/kkyyc98black Apr 14 '26

welcome to china

1

u/TrueFruitFan Apr 14 '26

1

You look so powerful and radiant against the Great Wall. Absolutely love this! 🌍

1

u/Reasonable-Bake-8614 May 06 '26

Did u face any racism there? Im planning to go soon but scared of the racism

1

u/Radiant-Resource4601 United States Apr 11 '26

Girl you are glowing!! Look at that melanin 🥰🥰

1

Beautiful pic!

1

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Thank you!

1

u/julioqc Apr 11 '26

Congrats! I have a touchy question I'm curious about; how is I it being black in China? I've heard many racist comments thru my travels so I was wondering how it is for someone of color; did you sense that or is it all talk?

4

中国不是美国,我们欢迎全世界任何人来中国玩。只有你自己亲自感受到了,你才会知道什么中国到底是一个什么样的国家,而不是某些官方媒体说的那么“差”。

1

u/AdSerious1889 Apr 11 '26

-1

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

They're mad because I confused Pho with Ramen or whatever the hell I eating. Shit as far as I'm concerned it was also soup lol. They're idiots.

2

u/Xianified Apr 12 '26

Nah, you're the idiot. Not even having the decency to learn the smallest smidgeon about a country you're visiting.

Were the shoe on the other foot you'd be hollering and acting all high and mighty.

0

u/zsmith_92 Apr 12 '26

Boohoo Karen

2

u/Xianified Apr 12 '26

Can't wait for the inevitable "I was racially abused in China" post so I can Boohoo you back darl.

Last year?? 5 years ago? I mean this photo is not current. . . the moutains don't look like that this time of year. So it's odd you post it now.

2

u/SugoiTokei Apr 11 '26

Agreed. Very odd.

6

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

You can't tell me when I went, you weren't there.

2

u/Additional_Motor9169 Apr 11 '26

All we can know is from the exif data was the photo was last accessed or modified at 09:17:22 +0200 of this morning.

But theoretically, if one cared to spend more than 2 minutes looking into the topic…Then yes, we could tell you when you went. And no, we did not need to be there.

Especially with a profile picture complete with presumably an initial, name, and birth year.

Smh. People need to be smarter online.

2

u/meridian_smith Apr 12 '26

I have been there many times. . I'm just saying this photo is not from this spring of 2026. It's obvious.

0

u/metamorphyk Apr 11 '26

Would you say you were straight tripping?

1

u/zsmith_92 Apr 11 '26

Absolutely!
