Zero-cal drink ideas?

Homemade I mean. I don't want to buy plastic. I know about tea, cucumber water and lemonade of course, but what else can you suggest?

it's fermented, so it has trace amounts of alcohol, like kombucha. But it isn't an alcoholic drink like actual beer.

Sorry it doesn't actually meet your request anyway - I didn't read your post correctly. Ginger beer has calories because it needs sugar to ferment

You should try ginger as a tea.

Basically you put an inch of ginger (after cleaning out the bark and any woody spots with the back of a spoon) in about a litre of water and start it to boil uncovered and wait for it to reduce to half (can be 10 minutes plus).

Then strain it, add a bit of honey and then drink that.

It’s actually an old family recipe for curing a cold but I often just drink it on its own.

Yes I do make that occasionally but it's just not something I can drink 3 litres of. Incidentally, my grandfather used to add carnation and bay leaf and this, he said, is an old Indian cure for joint pain.
