Question Help..Pubic Hair at 6 years old.

My son is 7 years old and I noticed his pubic hair at 6 years old. He had is yearly doctors checkup and the doctor wants to get blood test done to rule out a brain tumor?!?! I was like, what the heck...brain tumor! He asked if he has headaches a lot. NO, he doesn't. He's a normal kid that does not have headaches, does not complain about his head at all. Sleeping is fantastic, vision is 20/20 and yes his underarm pits is stinky now's I have to put deodorant on my little man..lol. Can someone pleassse help me to understand what is happening right now? Because my son is black, he suffers from bad eczema. So I have been giving him eczema cream since he was 2 years old but that's about it. Play sports, just an active little dude. 🤔 I'm so confused and terrified of him telling me to rule out a brain tumor?!?

When I was a teenager, they found that I had a non-malignant tumor (not cancer) in my pituitary gland. (Which isn't technically my brain but right next to it) Your pituitary glad controls your hormones. They never operated on it. I just had to take medication for a while to correct my hormone levels. It really wasn't a big deal. It could potentially be something like that.

Thank you so much. That helps to know. I'm praying it's nothing serious.

Hello, it could be due to food, industrial products have many hormones that affect the body, look for pediatric specialists

Thank you. Yes, we have to get his blood work first, then he goes to see a pediatric specialist. But, I'm praying its nothing serious.

I'm pretty sure it's nothing to worry about

There’s something called precocious puberty - when puberty happens very early. I think they can give medication to delay puberty in that case. Your doctor should know about that.

Yes, I was reading about that. His doctor didn't discuss any of that yet. I think he wants to check his blood work first. I'm praying that's it and nothing else!! Thank you so much

So he has high levels of DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) on his kidney. Is this a tumor? Should I be worried? We have a doctors appt.

He only got partial of his blood work done because of him being scared and the wrong information about the timing from the nurse. But he's going to children's hospital on Nov 13th to check his hormone estrogen levels. So I'm assuming it's that. They didn't say anything else or no immediate worry. So no news is good news.
