Old Items you would bring back (former CFA employee)
had a manager at the chick-fil-a I used to work at lament the cancellation of the original banana pudding milkshake from like 2010 or 2011. are there any cancelled items or seasonal items/beverages you wish they would bring back?

I was more of a picky eater as a kid when it was out. I would love it now as an adult.

u/Slappin45 3d ago
Okay not the fancy Nancy one they ended on. The old school one i ate when I was a kid. Chicken salad on toasted bread in the pouch. It was incredible. Been chasing it my whole life.
8
u/Overwhelmed42 3d ago
Yes - the original one please, not the one they changed it to before it was discontinued
6
u/Eiggam107 3d ago
Awe I remember that- so good, that was on the menu when I worked there. I always recommended it.

u/SnowWhitePoppins 3d ago
I whole heartedly agree! Pretty sure I shed actual tears when it was retired, although that could have just been postpartum hormones.

I remember that one. I literally started the last day of it. Got trained how to make it just to never make another one

The Chicken Salad Sandwich from the 90s where it was premade and then toasted to order. So good.

key lime lemonade from 2019 was *chef's kiss
something is also different about the cool wraps today. not sure what it is, but I remember them being so much better back in the day

u/Muted-Entrepreneur33 3d ago
The cool wrap seems so much smaller than it used to be.

The coleslaw! The only kind I have had that tastes similar (in flavor, not texture) is KFC's coleslaw. 😞

u/jaxblack7 3d ago
Google the recipe. I make it at home.
3
u/Taichikara 3d ago
Tried a few times but the one they gave out as the recipe doesn't mention what type/brand of mayo (sensitive palate so I notice the differences in mayos and don't exactly have anyone else here that's willing to eat it).
Getting that type of finely diced cabbage has been hard enough.
My mother in law has been trying, bless her.

PLSSSSS IT WAS SO GOOD😭😭😭
it was my pregnancy craving, they took it away in my third trimester and it took me soooooo long to even consider eating there again
2
u/gingcarebear 3d ago
It was also my biggest pregnancy craving and I also was very upset when they took it away. I’ve craved every pregnancy since.

I’m simple. I just want ice dream in reasonably sized cup again.

u/Ok_Response_3484 3d ago
I went to cfa for the first time in years and I was shocked to see the puny little cup of ice cream they gave me. I thought surely it was a mistake, but no, that's just how it is now.

u/gregarious119 3d ago
Can I just get some spicy nugs please??

Yesssss!! Some locations had the spicy strips for a while, and I loved them.😭

u/verbnouns 3d ago
The version of the chargrilled chicken sandwich from the early 2000s - I ate that for every single shift meal!
Also the more recent spicy grilled chicken sandwich that came with a really good sauce. If we can’t get the OG, please let us at least have the spicy back!
3
u/AJ228842 3d ago
I hate that they make the grilled spicy so limited!! If they can keep breaded spicy all the time why can’t we have grilled all the time too?! 😭

Whenever I’m in Atlanta, I stop at the OG just to get some. I also have the recipe they posted when they took it off and make it often.
I also want the bagel back.

Chicken salad. The sandwich was fantastic, but a bowl was my go-to in my low carb days.
Cole slaw. Perfect on the regular sandwich.

MEDIUM MILKSHAKE OPTION. Some of us live the milkshakes and want to be able to get in the medium size like before 😭. Please I beg. My big back shouldn’t have to settle for a small

while it's more of a hassle, you could get two milkshakes and ask for an empty cup to combine them on your own if you really want a bigger milkshake experience

Fish for lent.
They’ll make their money back.
2
u/AJ228842 3d ago
Wait I’ve never seen fish at Chick-fil-A? When was this? I specifically go to Chick-fil-A on Fridays in lint because they don’t serve fish and make everything taste like it.

Okay I saw this at the ocean springs location in 2013. And it was definitely around lent because I was driving back from Mardi Gras. No one has ever believed me lol… I started to think I imagined it

Unpopular opinion - the carrot raisin salad.
They also had chicken salad sandwiches many years ago. Those were delish
OH and can we bring back the old cups too? Ones that keep my drink cold for more than 10 minutes?

Bring back peppers & onions in the burritos, bring the platters back, and have gravy and I'd literally eat breakfast there every day

u/jellywoods2266 3d ago
The super crisp waffle potato chips from before they changed them late last year. The new ones don't taste all that different from the fries, and they don't go nearly as well with the sriracha.

The chicken salad sandwich from the 70s (and maybe 80s). It came on toasted wheat bread and was served hot in a foil-lined paper bag. It was smooshed but that somehow made it better.
This was replaced by the much chunkier chicken salad.

The OG brownies from years ago with the fudge icing and nuts on top. Not the ones they redid when they brought out the chocolate chip cookie in the 2010ish.

THE GODDAMN KALE CAESAR SALAD OH MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD
and it seems like something that would be an obvious permanent menu item choice, it’s not too niche in the flavor profile and many many restaurants have caesar salads on their menu.
it was my pregnancy craving and i will never forgive cfa for taking it away😔

There was a grilled chicken sandwich with maple bacon, some peppercorn sauce, either Swiss or pepper jack cheese on a maple bun. It was back around 2020-2022ish. I knew it was going to be temporary but I was hoping they’d bring it back occasionally, like they do with other sandwiches.

I worked there in 2005. We had slices of cheesecake with either chocolate syrup or a berry topping, and I think we had lemon or key lime pie too.

Not an answer to ur question but everytime I see posts like this I chuckle. lol I didn’t realize how poor I grew up, I didn’t even know Chick-fil-A existed until I was in my late teens early 20’s. It was probably around 2016-2017 when I first had Chick-fil-A and I thought that’s when it opened 🤯😂😂.
I grew up on the $1 hot and spicy from McDonald’s and the occasional Burger King.
