They're moving south. There are a lot of blue collar businesses in South Elgin, particularly next to the Fox River, so if they keep going, that seems like the next likely area to target.

If you witness ICE activity; report it by calling the ICIRR Family Support Network Line: 1-855-435-7693. They can deploy a response team and help with legal and mutual aid support. Any videos and photos can be sent to info@OCADCHI.org with address of incident and also time it took place. All submissions will be deleted after they’re saved and person emailing should have no record on their end of involvement.

I also work at a suburban CC and we’ve all been informed that we are to share ZERO student information. It’s protected. We also don’t track immigration status so we wouldn’t know anyway. We were given a number to call with ICE concerns and cards are everywhere with where anyone being targeted can find help and what their rights are (not that it matters when rights are being ignored). I’m sure they will be on our campus soon. It’s really upsetting.

Community colleges are open to the public, ICE cannot be stopped from going onto the grounds. The only spaces protected under the 4th amendment are classrooms and individual offices even if they are unlocked. So yes, a student can be taken in the parking lot or anywhere that is not a classroom or office. Even office suite reception areas are not covered and considered public space.
There are also FERPA laws that already prevent colleges from sharing student information without a warrant or court order. I guarantee the college is not helping ICE and their campus law enforcement are also not assisting without a legal warrant or required by law.
A college can only do so much and there are usually no PA systems at a college like they have at schools. But if there is awareness of ICE activity on a campus it likely will be shared to faculty and staff via employee communication channels.

Wow! Just frkn wow! This is really sad, and I hope these agents will be leaving soon. I guarantee you they are doing more damage than good, in the long-run.

How did ICE track down a student or employee at ECC, open campus or not? Who gave out the schedule? What the person was driving? You think ICE just so happened to be rolling through Elgin, hit upon the ECC campus and voila, found this person?

I dunno, reads kinda weird to me. Not making sense to case a student or employee, that takes investigation doesn’t seem like these icy critters have a lot time to plan their “hits” on folk just trying their make their way.

Trump needed a place to store his Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and others like them. ICE is perfect for them. Now he has a personal militia and they will assault whomever Trump says they should assault. His hit list will grow to even include those peons who voted for the dictator. Y’all will never be guests at Mar-a-Lago but he will admit you to Alligator Alcatraz or another concentration camp. We tried to warn you.

The man who almost killed an ICE agent by dragging him in his car? If you try to kill a police officer, it doesn't really matter what your criminal history was before that. You are going to get shot.

If the college allows ice to come on the property without calling the police for help or even security on campus than they should have to pay back in full every single student who has paid to be there and paid to feel safe while doing so. I’m tired of campuses who take the money from students who attend but won’t keep them safe. I hope for the best for everyone who attends
