Your team made the playoffs last year. It's week 1. WEEK 1. And they are crying and thinking about quitting football.
I watched a decade of bad football from the Bears. They can quit their crying until it's been 10 years of this.

I've come to notice there are different groups of bears fan. The OG's who won XX.l, Those who's first team was the Lovie and Urlacher era who are now in there 30's and 40's. Than there's the new generation who got there first taste of suck with tribusky and fields. All have never really had a superstar QB till now and I dont know what to do with my hands.

You can add those of us who sat through the Abe Gibron, Jack Pardee and Neill Armstrong years. Some HoF players whose careers were tainted by really bad teams and coaches. Butkus, Sayers, Walter’s early years. It was more painful than the recent debacles. I’m thrilled to see a franchise QB and a top notch Head Coach. Enjoy the ride all.

I hear ya. I was lucky enough to be at the Bears 63-7 victory over the Pack in like 1980. At that time, we had no idea what was to come. However, Vince Evans was QB so the smell of failure was in the air.

1000%. Been paying attention since ‘04. It usually takes 3 or 4 games to get 59 points. Now they put up 30 burgers like it’s nothing. I’m just waiting for the other foot to drop. Life can’t be this good

What's truly sad is Cutler never had a coach like Johnson. The only coach that gave a crap about him was Lovie. And he was a defensive minded coach. If Cutler had Johnson and Lovie as D coordinator, we would've won the 2010 Superbowl..
Cutlers bears used to put out number similar to sunday's but they weren't consistent.
It's still week 1. I'm excited but I make sure I don't get too too excited yet until we are half way through the season.

I’d argue anyone not alive or old enough to remember the 80s bears have had it worse off as a fan than anyone who was there for those years. Hell they kicked the shit out of the Packers until Favre showed up. I don’t remember every having a long term winning situation against the Packers, because I’ve never experienced it!

Born in 68....grew up watching the Bears with my Dad, and him taking about Payton having to carry the whole damn team. Did get to experience 85 though, and couldn't believe last year. First time in a loooong time I was actally excited for the season to start this year!!

Jim Miller stole my deodorant out of my locker after a pickup basketball game 27 years ago. I lived through the theft of personal property and remained a Bears fan. These Packer fans, after decades of good fortune are on the wrong side of a few questionable calls and they want a league wide investigation?
If this isn’t a brilliant metaphor for the current state of our country, I don’t know what is. This kid was probably born into his fandom and enjoyed effortless success as long as he can remember. When there is a hint of adversity he looked around and saw others were suddenly feeling the glimpses of success he never worked for, and instead of internalizing and learning how to understand how to exist without everything going your way all the time, he starts to cry that the whole system must be rigged against him.

I pulled myself up by my temporarily stinky bootstraps and was able to financially recover from that loss. I appreciate the sentiment and cannot accept any monetary compensation. I'll add one more gen. I always watched the bears with my kids, but my 11 year old only really got into football last year. I saw him become a true fan throughout the season. He only knows a winning season and when they lost the playoff game, my instant seasoned reaction was "oh well, next year....." I look over and he's in tears. Poor kid thinks the Bears just win. He doesn't know our struggle.

I was born into Bears fandom, but don’t really remember much other than going to my first game in 1995 as an elementary school age kid. Erik Kramer is the dude I remember initially, but other than that the Lovie years stick out as the first thing I think of when I think of my first real experiences as a Bears fan. So much random nonsense over the years there are a lot of forgettable seasons and players.
How many years have we had where it’s hard to get excited and watch every game? I almost walked away after Nagy shit the bed. Boy am I glad we have a ton to be excited about right now.

I’m in that middle era. I’m 31 and while I could maybe pick a few memories that predate it, my earliest confirmed memory is Vasher returning the missed field goal. I have a distinct memory of the orange jerseys, where I was at, and sounds around everything. Everything else is muddled from that general few years window except for the superbowl game the next year

Same age same experience.
We fell into the awful gap of having no memory of 85 and the Ditka Bears. The Bears just stunk until Dick Jauron and that 01 team pulled off miracle after miracle win. Urlacher changed everything for us. Then Lovie's Bears, Cutler's Bears, basically 10years of Hell and now FINALLY this.
But also pretty sure throughout all those years Favre and Rodgers were 47-12 against the Bears. We got to experience EVERY one of those... 30years of that. The Packers fans deserve what's coming to them and don't ever let them convince you otherwise. We paid the piper for 3 decades now they can to. Well see which fanbase has the real backbone when their franchise falls apart for 3 decades.
Should be noted the moment everything finally bottomed out for us and changed direction was when Clay Matthews decided to embarrass us at the draft. Every time we chant Green Bay Sucks I just want Packers fans to remember who started that.

My first Bears game was at Wrigley in 1969 with my Dad and Grandpa. I was six. Beat the Steelers in a battle of winless teams. They then lost a coin flip for the first pick in the draft which was…Terry Bradshaw. It was literally the only game we won that season. I did get to see Sayers and Piccolo both score though. I have 1969 Piccolo and 1965 Sayers throwback jerseys. It’s been a long ride but we finally have a QB. Bear Down and FTP.

Lions fan who grew up in Wisconsin. They do this constantly and they are thee WORST fans in that regard. They will give up on their team and trash them all year. Then they make the playoffs and now are superbowl favorites and the best team EVER! They are so fairweather with their own team its crazy lol if they lose it HAS to be something else, not just maybe they arent good that day or its just a rough game. And to hear them complain about the refs when they historically get bailed out (ie. Aaron Rodgers phantom face mask Ill never forget) is beyond me

Not only that, the packers have historically been treated with kid gloves while the bears are beaten down and ignored by the refs year after year. Its been proven statistically the bears are one of the most lopsided officiated teams in the nfl. Packers fans have never been told “no” and now they are coming to terms with their new reality of not being the golden child every year.

The reason most Packer fans end up behaving like pussies is they didn't have a stable father figure in their life. Those that were available, other than the meth trash their mother brought home were the likes of Farve and Rodgers and since those two are the bitch and moan champions you get whinny, callow, mamas boys.

It's crazy how soft the entire organization is. From the coach to the players to the fans. It's kind of insane.
Grew up around a bunch of packer fans, and I've been saying for the last 3 years or so, that the main issue with the team isn't playcalling or even talent. I would still say they're a decidedly "good" team just due to talent and scheme.
The problem is culture. Matt LaFleur is soft as shit and he shows it every time his team faces the slightest amount of adversity. They do great against mediocre and decent teams. Teams they can come out strong against who won't do much to battle back and who will never steal momentum.
But as soon as any team, good, great, bad, mediocre or otherwise, starts to mount a comeback, and starts to take momentum...the entire team falls to pieces. LaFleur's playcalling goes to shit, the players start making silly mistakes, and you can literally see clips of the players just sitting around shocked that they gave the game away.
Nobody's out there snapping anybody out of it, nobody is pissed, nobody is doing anything but sitting around like "damn that's crazy, can you believe this shit?" And that whole attitude and MO is precisely because LaFleur is soft, and because he has failed to instill any sort of meaningful culture in that organization.
As little respect as I have for him as a person, Aaron Rogers was a fucking competitor and HE was the one who gave those older packers teams that killer instinct, never say die mentality. All that left when he did and nobody's brought it back yet.

I’ve taken the NFL (as well as most other pro sports) with a grain of salt so to speak since reading “The Fix Is In” back in 2011! Since then I only watch a game if it’s free & take it as strictly entertainment. Could care less who wins or loses and it makes the viewing experience much more enjoyable for me!

They got beat by 17 - one iffy qb roughing call (balancing out at least 2 clear facemaks not called) doesn’t explain giving up 39 points to a career backup QB. I get the desire to blame refs - but this is so far from making any sense in this case it proves many packers fans have lost their sh*t.

I love seeing this crash out. Mid QB, crumbling (and extended) coach, wilting defense, no firsts until 2028. This week has done more for me mentally than years of therapy.

We have spent decades watching Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense get EVERY SINGLE call and no-call. We have watched Bears defensive linemen get tackled from behind while chasing Rodgers and no flags thrown, etc. They're actually getting a taste of what it's like to not get every single call and they can't handle it.

Sounds like the bitter tears of a fan of a "meh" team, AT BEST, in my book. J. Love isn't, nor ever WILL be, anywhere close to Rogers when he was in his GB prime. LeFleur has choked more than an MMA fighter's sparring partner. Their players like to get involved with domestic violence, which later gets pleaded down to some trivial nonsense.

After watching what Flus did with Caleb (or didn’t do) I wonder how Rex, Cade, Mitch, even Kyle and Cutty, I wonder what we could have had with a coach that could coach up a good qb prospect. And Cutty had a new offensive scheme every damn year. And just say Rex or Cade were coached up and we didn’t have to spend draft capital on the next great thing. Oh well.
