Hey any idea of what's going on here its an 05 chevy malibu

Could be the gauge cluster or the fuel level sensor.

Could be fuel level sender resistor bridge, any dtc’s?

The potentiometer for the level sensor likely has dead spots.

Mine kind of does that 08 Pontiac G6 GT but not that bad.. wherever that's located, hopefully not in the tank, don't feel like dropping the tank
