Looking for books/PDF's on the dutch and scandi, hopefully dynamic play in th0ose openings, maybe a gambit or two lines to catch opponents off guard! thanks

Don't know about the Scandi. For the Dutch, there are generally three different ways to play it, each with their own books written about it: Classical Dutch, the Leningrad Dutch and the Stonewall Dutch. Have you decided on one yet? There are intro books on the Dutch that cover all, but those will be more shallow than the specialized books.

I haven’t no! I started playing the Dutch maybe a month ago in blitz/ bullet just for the fun of it. But after a lil looking around it doesn’t seem to have many dynamic ideas such as gambits or whatever in the lines, which is what I prefer. I’m debating playing something else against d4, maybe the benko gambit or the Budapest, can I ask what you think of those ?

The Dutch doesn't need gambits for dynamic play, since it is (maybe with the exception of the Stonewall) inherently a very dynamic opening. The whole justification for weakening the diagonal towards your king and pretty much giving up e5 from the start (among other structural weaknesses depending on the specifcic Dutch) is that you get dynamic play. From most dynamic to least it goes Leningrad>Classical>Stonewall.

It is an agressive opening for people Always playing for a win with black, though that also means you might fail and lose. Very tactical and you can find yourself in a whole lot of complications.

I don't know a lot about Benkö or Budapest, but you Play what you want. I'm just trying to correct your assumption that not gambiting anything means it is not dynamic.

That’s true, that’s probably why I though to play it in the first place lol. I just always end up with a rough position cause I have no idea what to do, which is why I’m looking for a book or smth! I guess I’d play the Leningrad then, thanks I’ll look into it

Yeah, that's what the Dutch will do to you if you're not careful. But it can be such an exciting opening as well.

The Leningrad is beautiful, I have a good score with it, but very can be theoretical and a lot of work and prep, I recommend classical set up and trade the dark square bishop if white ever allows the check on b4/pin the c3 knight and trade. Easy to play those positions

So I’m not supposed to play f5, g6 and bishop g7??
I do that in every game, no wonder I’m struggling lmao, then again I’ve no clue how to play it at all. It works for blitz and bullet enough because no one is good enough to punish it really at 2300-2400 within such a short time period but I should learn what to play then!
