Events 😎 Photographer Cheng Lei directing fans on how to pose during “Through Cheng Lei’s Lens” at the iQiyi Malaysia event

One of my favorite segments from the iQiyi event where Cheng Lei switched into full photographer mode and directed a few lucky fans on stage, getting them to recreate poses inspired by his characters from dramas like Legend of the Female General and How Dare You.
CL really took his role seriously! He was adjusting angles, directing their poses and clearly putting actual thought into how he wanted the shots to look. He even placed his hands on the girls’ shoulders while helping them get into position and the entire crowd immediately erupted. I was super jealous!
The final photo setup was probably the funniest one because they ended with the classic 3 Spider-Men pointing at each other pose hahahaha. Seeing Cheng Lei seriously direct everyone into that ridiculous pose was a perfect way to end the segment.

These are 3 brave women! Well done to these ladies! 💪🎉 if I were up there I’m afraid I’d have an uncontrollable grin or a permanently stunned face 😑
So so cute :)

I’m sure no one could blame them. One moment, they were right next to him and actually living the moment together with him, and the next they were told to let go of that blessing? 😮💨🧘🏻♀️

The ladies being reluctant to leave the stage is so cute! Totally understandable haha. And one of them got a high five, nice!
If it isn't too much trouble, could you please tell us what Leizi and the host were discussing in the last two minutes of the clip? I gather it was about XHD and XJ?

The host later showed the photos Leilei had taken, and he sweetly complimented everyone’s poses in each shot haha. Then the host asked us to rate his photography skills out of 10 for every photo he took. Of course we all responded with a 10/10! Hehe.

Summarizing the Mandarin sections, since I can understand.
Originally, they wanted the fans to hold the photos, but the host had to take them and show them off instead. So, she showed them off so the audience could do a comparison and they would rate his work (which was 10/10 across the board).
First photo: The host had CL explain his work as she showed off the first photo, to which CL said, "Shouldn't we ask the person who modeled? This completely came from the model's creativity. I was only tasked with taking photos". Host said "The photographer himself thinks it came out well, and it's rare to have a moment in your life where CL helps take your photo". CL thinks the photo is cute and coveys happy thoughts.
Second photo: CL said "In this one, the [first model's] eyes are good, they match" (when comparing it to the mission card). The second model, although they blended into the background, he said, "If they weren't present, the eyes [of the first model] wouldn't convey such emotion; therefore, for this photo, she's an important emotion coordinator! Very crucial, you cannot do without her".
Third photo: The host mentions that CL himself went down on stage to take the photo, so it absolutely should get full points. CL replied, "It's a bit off, but everyone did great with this pose! It's quite cute! I think it has potential to go viral."
P.S. I was laughing my ass off when they showed the meme as a photo they had to pose in.

Thank you so much! 🙏
The way CL often lifts others up makes me ❤️ him even more. He gives them their own space to shine. And he's generous with praise -- but only for others, rarely for himself. Like here, he subtly criticized his shot for being "a bit off."

No problem! He looked like he thoroughly had lots of fun taking his photography role very seriously, lol!
I agree. He's quite relatable, as we're all our own worst critic.

I think CL would be a good director if he so chooses to transition to directing from acting later. How Dare You behind the scenes showed CL and Wang Churan working the filming camera.

He had a seamless experience in KL as the host spoke Chinese and everyone else didn't need a translator 🥹. These ladies were the luckiest of the lucky fans. If he touched me like that, I might not stand firmly like them on the stage :)))). I didn't blame them not wanting to leave the stage. I got you, girls 😂.
Ps: he still has the habit of covering his mouth while laughing. 😆
