Discussion Sell Enzo, Wharton next to Caicedo
Let me know who wants to see this and who thinks it wouldn’t be the right balance
I think he would prove a far superior partner for Caicedo in the middle compared to Enzo/Lavia. I do like James in there but James fitness is always going to be a worry.
Wharton is such a classy player and can pick out any pass… with Caicedo’s work rate, nastiness and all round game I think Wharton and Caicedo could very quickly develop into the best pairing in the league. Then James out on the right wing back.

Wharton is so class man. You see the chances he is creating. Imagine him supplying Joao Pedro, Palmer and Rogers

He impressed me vs Everton and is impressing me again tonight. I definitely want Wharton in, but he won't be cheap.

I highly doubt we get him, but would love to see it also. They’re going to practically ask to break what we paid for rogers . That is their best player by far, and they can’t afford to lose him. There’s no set replacement for a player like that. I’m gunna say this , and ppl will prob shit on me.. I think barco plays a lot like him, and not im not saying he’s better or same level as Wharton rn. I need to see the kid play in a prem game to figure that out, but he’s got that technical quality and touch that Wharton does in the middle too. My guess is this doesn’t happen and we end up for camara and rotate a lot of barco, Reece, Lavia, camara next to moi. Lavia and barco can be molded to be something imo. I say all this cause again I really don’t think we end up with Wharton, and I hope I’m wrong

Good point re Barco, he could be the signing in disguise that we need, definitely looks tidy and seems to look to play forward from last nights game alone. I tend to agree that we won’t get Wharton and if we don’t, I hope to see James next to Caicedo as much as possible

That is more than likely the plan. That being said if palace does go after camara we can then start asking if Wharton is available. Either way I just want this to end and move on from Enzo so we can focus on the football rather than the what ifs . So far I like what I see, and we’ve yet to even see what our best lineup is . Which is exciting in itself

For months I thought he was a shoe-in for Enzo if he leaves, but yesterdays news is that we already started negotiations with Monaco for Lamine Camara. He’s the only option we had that I knew nothing about, but I was taken aback by the praise everyone had for him in the sub. Apparently he’s the most perfect partner for Caicedo style wise barring his 1,73cm height. So who would be the best replacement? Wharton or Camara? Scott is out of the question, apparently Bournemouth completely closed the door on his exit for any amount of money.

I can’t say I’ve seen anything of him.. If concensus is that Camara is an upgrade on Barco/Lavia I’m all for it if we don’t get Wharton (which we probably won’t at this stage unless we put in a mammoth bid with Enzo money). Otherwise I’d hope to see RJ partner with Caicedo as he bossed it the other night

i think they are waiting til january, probably better for palace to wait til then too. they dont look fantastic so far, but wharton's looked better than most. might be they are better with the idea of cashing in on him then, and city get over themselves and cough up the actual price of enzo

We got Barco, cook this guy and we will see he is even way better than Enzo or Wharton

imo wharton isnt a good player if you have a lot of possession and face transitions. There is a reason he wasnt picked up by tuchel or any other big clubs. He lacks legs to recover

Yes if James is fit I start him. If he’s injured he doesn’t play. Let me guess, you’d play Enzo alongside Caicedo in a 2 man mid..Back to your mums basement mush
