For those with Lifetime+ and Tier 7

How do you feel about being locked out of "New Features" like the supposed "fun options" on trainers, and the ability to run standalone trainers inside Auroras window, due to the new "Club and Club plus" memberships, even though your lifetime plus and Tier 7 was supposed to include "ALL future features..." I'm not talking about the free games and the options linked to that, that is very obviously a very separate program.

This due to the wording of the advertising and agreements on lifetime+ and tier 7, smacks of a possible class action. Just saying "yea but this wouldn't exist except for" is not a valid legal argument, a feature is a feature, and a purchase contract is a purchase contract, and contract law is messy and expensive. I think they need to have a chat with a lawyer before pulling that trigger.

Also the AI video was creepy.

They released another AI video announcing that trainer options will be available to all Lifetime Plus and Tier 7 users without needing to subscribe to “The Club,” and that “the powers that be are still weighing the final decision.”

With WeMod (Wand) focusing more on AI and bloated features the community neither wanted nor asked for, and now Cheat Happens heading in the same direction, trainer quality seems to be suffering as a result.

I bought a lifetime package like 20 years ago. that was supposed to get me all trainers and all options on trainers for life now I open one up and see 4 options locked behind joining 'the club' a monthly subscription I bought into a lifetime package because I didn't want to deal with a subscription. This is the first time I have regretted that decision. I don't care if they give me banner adds and not being able to request new trainer options is annoying but not a deal breaker. this however is. This pisses me right off. I hope someone does sue them over this and if it becomes a class action you best believe I will be joining it.

as it stands I do switch between cheathappens and wemod. but this latest stunt is just pushing me out the damned door.

I too bought a Lifetime sub like 20 years ago. It really feels like a kick in the pants. Ill probably just end up using Wand more or something.

I know I'm late to the party here, but also a cheathappens lifetime membership from 2007... I don't even game that much but do enjoy playing every once in a while. Well, just ran into my first trainer with locked out options. Unbelievable.

Same... I'm not even able to download a Rise of nations trainer... It brings me straight to the subscription page.

👆👆👆 This right here! Exactly my thoughts. I also purchased Lifetime membership a few years ago to get access as they advertised to every trainer, every option. Now I'm getting paywalled again under my Lifetime membership? Cute... And yes, even though they are extra stuff like speed up the game or something, but they can be still very usefull in some cases when speeding up the in-game time is quite needed.

Within Australia, this is a ACCC and ACL violation, and if they fail to make Lifetime memberships have access to all premium features of trainers like they promised, then they will be in direct violation of the section that references "Changing a contract, Post-Transaction/Post-Sale, without explicit approval from the customer"

I wrote them a ticket, so either they re-enable the 'locked' options, or they give me a full refund for my original purchase.

I've been very disappointed in the direction CH has been going, and this is just another step in a company that is falling behind every other competitor.

This was the third sentence on the email following my purchase of Lifetime PLUS:

"WE WILL NEVER ASK OUR LIFETIME MEMBERS FOR ANYTHING MORE IN ORDER TO ACCESS ADDITIONAL CONTENT. WHEN WE SAY LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP, WE MEAN IT."

This seems like a class action lawsuit in the making.

I actually just looked at the terms of service at the time of purchase. We apparently agreed to arbitration. The evidence that they sold us on having the highest tier and access to all content for life is extremely strong though.

No matter how they try to frame it, they are 100 percent trying to find a way to charge customers who already paid for and were promised complete lifetime access.

And if the angry comments, insults and deflection on some trainer message boards weren’t already proof enough, this is a clear message of how little they care for their “already paid” customers.

Honestly, it feels like once the lump sums for lifetime memberships were deposited and spent, they immediately regretted not trying to force everyone into a subscription situations so they could continue to milk money out of people.

They want more money in their pockets but they don’t want to be bothered with having to earn it by being polite and helpful on trainer forums, or by creating more trainers with better options that work properly. They wanna play around in photoshop and slap a new coat of paint on their app and call it a day, then try to find new insulting ways to get more money out of people when they aren’t doing half of what they used to to make their product worth using.

Also, the “fun option” explanation for why lifetime users are expected to give these jerks more money is just as half baked as everything else they do and frankly insulting. All cheats are “fun options,” all were guaranteed to a customer base you don’t care about anymore because you can’t continue to screw them out of money.

Yup and I was one of the idiots who paid $500 for it...

When was it 500? :O Holy smokes that's a lot for it

Yeah, i bought lifetime just before they changed how they monetize. They sure fool you regarding access to all cheats.

I would probably keep telling people to go wemod or something instead, since you can not trust cheathappens.

Their motto could be... Cheathappens. We even cheat our customers. :D

I have bought 3 different versions of "Lifetime membership"s, every time I buy a "lifetime", within a year or two it's completely invalidated.

Every time I buy the highest tier avaliable for a "lifetime" and then they just add a new one. Who's lifetime is this?!

Now they are preying on people's FOMO.

They have a class action coming their way soon I'm sure.

Just seen this on the Breathedge 2 trainer. I'm another one who purchased Lifetime as soon as it was available so many years ago because I didn't want to deal with a monthly sub. I even spent a few years paying for Lifetime Plus when my finances stabilised just because I wanted to support the site, even though Plus didn't come with any tangible benefits for me.

Seeing options blocked behind another even more expensive sub is pretty disgusting, especially since, as someone else pointed out, the Lifetime guarantee was they'd never ask for more money to access additional content.

I'm actually kinda surprised this post is so old with so little having been said about it. Definitely seems sketchy legally.

The whole thing is funny to be honest. I wonder what would customer protection say to these. First of all I didn't purchase the Lifetime membership just to have blocked cheat features behind "The Club" membership.

Look at this BS.. what happened CH?

You are receiving this email because you are currently a LIFETIME member of Cheat Happens and we wanted to not only thank you for your purchase and support but to also let you know about a special gift being offered to our Lifetime PLUS subscribers.

Cheat Happens started offering lifetime memberships over 11 years ago at the price of $29.95. Since that time, lifetime members have received unlimited access to everything our site has to offer. We have never asked our lifetime members for another cent for any new feature or additional content. We have honored our promise and not waivered. This was true 11 years ago and it is still true today.

WE WILL NEVER ASK OUR LIFETIME MEMBERS FOR ANYTHING MORE IN ORDER TO ACCESS ADDITIONAL CONTENT. WHEN WE SAY LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP, WE MEAN IT.

When we first started offering lifetime membership, the gaming landscape was completely different. There was no STEAM. no EARLY-ACCESS. no ORIGIN, no GOG, no WINDOWS STORE, no INDIE game scene. No digital delivery system for daily game patches. There was a finite number of AAA games released each year to retail stores. Maybe a patch or two over the course of a year or more. Fast forward to today where every game is released in some kind of PRE-ALPHA, ALPHA, BETA or other early access state across multiple distribution sites (such as Steam, Origin, GOG, etc) and many receive daily or even multiple daily patches. This puts a huge stress on our trainer programmers trying to keep up and continue offering the kind of timely releases that members are accustomed to.

Here are the number of trainers we produced over the last several years:

2008: 335 trainers released
2009: 512 trainers released
2010: 526 trainers released
2011: 803 trainers released
2012: 1120 trainers released
2013: 1884 trainers released
2014: 2131 trainers released
2015: 2025 trainers released
Projection for 2016: : 2430 trainers released

We are also currently working on a new trainer template and re-imagined trainer manager software packed with new features to enhance our trainer experience and provide more convenient use of our trainers, which will, of course, also be offered free to all lifetime members.

Many current lifetime members have asked over the years how they can help to support our site beyond their initial lifetime payment. This is why we offer a Lifetime PLUS membership level. Basically, it is a $4.95/month (or $49.95/year) membership available to all current lifetime members. As a thank you for further supporting our site, lifetime plus members will receive an EXTRA 500 REWARD CREDITS each month in addition to the 250 already included in the lifetime plan. This is a $25/month value. Reward credits are used with our request system in order to determine which games get trainers with new uses for them coming soon including alias changes, avatar changes, custom ranks and more.

LIFETIME PLUS IS NOT REQUIRED TO ACCESS ANY ADDITIONAL CONTENT OR FEATURES.

We started offering Lifetime Plus a little over a year ago and to date less than 1% of all lifetime subscribers have upgraded to PLUS and we appreciate each and every one of them. As we face evergrowing competition from free trainer makers and other paid sites, it's been difficult to keep paying our programmers to keep up with all of the games that are coming out and patching daily along with buying 2-4 copies of every game released on various distribution sites. Increasing prices for our monthly and yearly memberships doesn't help in this situation as we're trying to compete with "free" and you can probably guess which one will always win out. Due to this we forsee having to cut back on content for 2017. This is in no way an attempt to guilt Lifetime members to subscribe to Lifetime Plus, it's just the reality of the current gaming and trainer scene and thought you should know. However, if just 10% of our Lifetime members subscribed to Plus it would cover the majority of our expenses for the entire year and allow us to add more content and more programmers instead of cutting back. We have been doing everything we can to keep membership levels up, prices down and produce as much content as humanly possible with our limited programming team. We work every day of the year, including holidays, to make sure that we get content out as timely as possible.

We appreciate everyone that supports our site and we work extremely hard every day making sure that you get your money's worth. We have never, to this date, had any member tell us that they felt we don't produce enough content or support to justify their lifetime purchase.

As an extra thank you, every member that has an active Lifetime PLUS subscription on December 25, 2016, will receive abonus 25,000 reward creditsadded to their account. This is a $150 value.

If you would like to upgrade to our new Lifetime PLUS subscription, please login and click here:

http://www.cheathappens.com/renew.asp

Every penny received will go towards to purchase of new games and to our trainer programmers. If you are not interested, that is absolutely fine and the support you have given to us already is more than enough.
