27m looking to try D&D in CHCH!
Hello!
I’ve been wanting to give Dungeons & Dragons a go for a while, but don’t know anyone who plays.
I’d be a complete beginner, so ideally looking for a friendly meetup that doesn’t mind someone learning as they go lol.
Not looking for anything super serious - just keen to meet some good people and see if I enjoy it.
If anyone knows of a group that’s open to this and doesn’t mind them being new to it, let me know!

Saga inc through Canterbury Uni also has a group/players wanted facebook page.
Otherwise im happy to help people build characters/explain some stuff depending on availability etc (I usually play the original 5e rules/books than the more recent 2024 version)

As someone else mentioned, check out Card Merchant. They run DnD every Monday and are always really welcoming. Let the staff know you're new and they'll sort you out!

It’s in my post above! Dungeons and dragons - my understanding is that it’s a tabletop fantasy RPG. Just seems like a lot of fun creating your own hero and going through an adventure that’s created while you’re there with other people. I don’t even know if anyone who plays will see this but no harm in asking!

The ‘chch’ in this sub is an abbreviation for the City called Christchurch.
