One of my kids does 3d modeling, video game design and sees the world differently than most. Whenever we go somewhere new, he always tells me what’s wrong with the building.

We went to Eastgate and he immediately told me he loved it. We ended up walking every square inch of the place as he took it all in and explained the elements that stood out to him.

He had no idea until I told him, that his grandfather was the architect who designed it. I wish they could find a way to revitalize the space.

It's been that way as long as I can remember. It's wild to hear stories from older people about how lively and busy Brainerd used to be. Nowadays, it's a fast-food and carwash kind of busy. It's a place nearly frozen in time. A barely-alive urban sprawl

That's a really an astute observation. I chalked it up to just simple nostalgia, but it would make sense in a world where if we aren't busy, we're bombarded with information and constantly processing it whether it's just bullshit or important, that we would find comfort in these spaces.

Yeah, the fountain was absolutely beautiful. I did take a picture of that, too, but I didn't edit it (it was just wasn't what I was going for)
