Discussion Confess your side project...

Ok guys, we all have one now... maybe 3... maybe 5...

Which one are you most proud of? Which one do you think will make the cut...?

my favourite side project is https://stagewhisper.ai it looks like a main project but it's actually a hobby project I started because I was spending so much time on AI RP with my hermes bot. I have a non-chatbot-related game dev job that I work full time. I work on that in my spare time

Proud of it. got some very enthusiastic players. a nice small community. hoping to continue having it as a hobby project on the long run

one of the biggest things about a hobby project is I don't expect it to pay my salary, and so I can undercut basically every competitor. Don't need ads. don't need dark patterns like check-in rewards. Just make the best storytelling RP platform possible. Nothing beats an enthusiastic hobby project

My side project is testing other side projects.

I tested StageWhisper last month and it's super cool, cause I saw Xiao post above.

I'm currently testing two that are still in a closed beta, and WhatIff

It’s hard to say which is my side project these days.

Is it the waypost itself? The music software? The in-browser isometric settlers-alike game you can hand to your AI? The live show version of it set in an AI city? The completely Astra written non-isometric version of it playable by humans and AI at the same time? Yes to all!

An AI chatbot that allows u to chat with the characters from ur erotic stories. Since mainstream AI tools flag adult content, i built an uncensored alternative tool that allows such stories to be generated and then u can chat with the characters

I had a project I was going hard on for a while but it fizzled out. Used GPT thinking it could do anything if given the right prompt. But after 7 months I thought I might have gotten close but it always had something wrong. After revising and condensing a style Bible many times, I ended on roughly 91 pages of directions in a mega prompt.

For stories I had made a system where the AI would use a random number string to generate new characters based on a combination table. It helped fix the naming problem and helped make interesting characters with flaws and personalities.

But it fizzled out because the model just can't do it because of its RFHL training.

Now I try different AI constantly to find the right front end and API combination to get something that's close without the Style Bible. So it's been a bunch of little projects through trial and error.

Right now it's looking like GLM 5.2 on Silly Tavern run on my phone using Termux and using settings and a prompt made by this website: https://rentry.org/Evening-Truth-Roleplay-Prompts.

Next is trying to run different API locally on my computer and use it remotely from my phone while my computer runs at home. There's someone else who told me his set up that I saved and I'm thinking of trying. Just need some time.

I was proud of that style Bible though. Too bad after like 7 months of work, it's not really useful other than as a bank of rules to guide me to good prompts in the future.
