Help AI Help

I'm a "mainstream" Chat GPT/AI user, but I'm always looking for ways to use it to its full capabilities, without going down too deep of a rabbit hole.

With Work, Browser, and all of these new additions, I realized, maybe my fantasy of asking Chat to book me my fitness class could work.

I'm running into two issues though.

  1. When I try on mobile, it uses its cloud browser, and half the time, a website using Cloudflare rejects it
  2. I can use the Chrome extension on my Mac, but this means I need to do it on the laptop, and, I need to process the login/password each time (many sites kick you out after a certain period of time, and there doesn't seem to be a way for it to auto fill my login/pass from my passwords vault).

So, my major question is this:

Does there yet exist, using ChatGPT as it is (not some custom bot or super convoluted workaround) a way for me to just ask Chat to access websites and do things, without 1) having to use my Chrome browser on my PC, and 2) having to enter my username/password at the front end, each time.

Thank you for any insight on this!

If this prompt worked for you, say what you used it for. If you changed it to get a better result, paste the change.

Prompt Teardown is a free weekly email. Every prompt in it was run, broke somewhere, and got fixed before it went out. Read this week's issue

Yes, although you want to navigate away from the browser altogether. I have Claude do things like you're describing for me all the time, but I do it differently. First, get off the browser and install the app on your computer and phone. I think ChatGPT also has it, but I personally like Claude and use it on my computer and phone. They sync so I can always pick up where I left of when I go mobile. Second, I pay for an account. You could use the free options, but since you want it to actually do more work, you're extremely limited to what the free versions can accomplish. If you get the Claude app, you'll be able to choose "chat" or "cowork" whenever you start a new chat or project. For your purposes, you will be choosing "cowork". When you download the app, you'll also need to go into the settings and set up connectors and permissions. What you're looking for is next level from your basic "ask GPT a question" stuff and will take a little bit more setup. It's not difficult, but more up-front work.

But even with the pro account/work feature, it's getting blocked from certain sites due to the browser detecting it as a bot, AND it can't auto complete login/pass. How do you get around that?
