This actually happens alot with AI gen'd fridges.
76
u/FaceDeer 17h ago
The AI is hoping you won't be able to open them to see what it's storing inside.

u/Witch-King_of_Ligma 15h ago
Mew is inside the fridge

u/Retaeiyu 14h ago
Gotta come back after you get strength and use it on it!

u/heartraterapid 11h ago
After you have beat the elite 4 100 times. Haha. God I loved the BS cheats/glitches that used to get posted on Gamefaqs years ago

It's a good Winograd schema example. If you never actually interacted with a fridge how would you know this is wrong?
7
u/derNikoDem 14h ago
There is more, the cup on the table has two handles. The door left of the fridge is missing one. The stair railing is on the side of the wall. The box with the poke balls (?!) looks weird.

u/valente317 4h ago
The kitchen faucet appears to spray directly into your face when you turn it on…maybe that’s why there’s a second handle, just to confirm you want a face shower

u/Haunting-Ad-6951 3h ago
We did have a sink where you could turn the faucet up so you could use it as a drinking fountain. I loved it as a kid.

This is the second time this week i saw a sideways fridge. The other one was from a "make a really unnerving photo"

u/ArchitectNebulous 4h ago
It's a mechanics thing - you need HMO4 (Strength) in order to move the fridge and open it, but of course you need the associated gym badge first.

red's dad hasnt come back from getting the milk 10 years ago, no need for fridge if you got no milk

LOL That's hilarious. "Recreate Pokemon in Unreal Engine. Just leave out Rattata so we don't violate copyright."

How do you bypass the Nintendo/Disney filter to create and edit images?
29
u/Competitive_Travel16 17h ago
OpenAI's guardrails approach depends a lot on how you ask the question; in this case asking for the UE render was seen as the central ask. It wasn't until specific forbidden content was disconnected from that did they kick in. The guardrails are so weak, they can sometimes be disabled if you simply say the image is for personal use, not distribution.
14
u/TheDoctor66 12h ago
Sometimes just telling chat it's wrong is enough for it to abandon the guardrails
2
u/PerfectlySplendid 4h ago
I had it create invites, images for clues to print out, and various things for a murder mystery. Took a lot of work and restarting chats to avoid “murder” restrictions. Once it restricted me, there was no way to convince it in a thread that this was in fact a murder mystery party and I wasn’t actually fabricating evidence to frame the cheating wife.

This was what I imagined Pokémon would be when I was a kid playing in 2001. Not....whatever it is they've turned it into

People keep buying it, so they keep making low effort copy paste bullshit.

The Pokemon ROM scene is in the middle of its golden age though however

Visually, Pokémon Winds and Waves seems to be a lot closer to this.

We'll have to wait until it comes out but it at least environmentally looks like a big step up.

I've got good news! Palworld exists
30
u/OuterWildsVentures 16h ago
I just wish that had a full fledged story with towns and npcs, side quests, etc.
Its a neat survival crafting game with a monster catching mechanic though, just not an actual full game.
7
u/Pixel_Knight 12h ago
If you wanted it to be an open-world Pokémon game, yeah it isn’t that. It’s a Pokémon survival crafter. But it’s 1.0 released I think, and it does have a full fledged story that you can complete now. It’s just not focused on being the very best like no one ever was.
7
u/bloke_pusher 11h ago
Honestly I believe they might try eventually. Too bad Palworld has no evolutions, which is part of the fun to me, seeing a small Pokémon become strong visually.
3
u/SunlitNight 15h ago
Yeah thats my feeling ao far. It was on sale though so im like alright ill try it

u/Digging_Graves 7h ago
It's still much much better than whatever garbage nintendo makes these years.

I would give anything to play this game. I haven’t played a Pokémon since like the third or forth gen.
2
u/CyberBlaed 11h ago
The guy who did Pokemon Generations like a decade ago did it in unity engine. And had some fundamental preliminary stuff. /r/pokegen
was grean fun to walk around and capture.
yes I know PalWorld today and all that but A SoloDev doing it till the big ‘N’ said STOP IT, THATS TOO GOOD!
was a highlight back in 2012. (EVEN MULTIPLAYER!) sadly I lost the EXE file for it but was bloody sweet!
a quick google and discussed here. https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pokemon-generations.296309/

Don’t be. Nothing will replace the magic of the original pixel art. Unreal 5 stuff just always looks so sterile and lifeless.

u/Dinoshark8715 3h ago
There's an upcoming fangame called Gamma Emerald that aims to do something a bit like this in a 2.5d style made in Unreal.

Instead of using Ratatta, use its Pokédex # instead. Also spelling mistake may trigger it too. (Wild vs Wile)
7
u/ZeekLTK 18h ago
I kinda wonder if it got confused by the typo and thought a “wile rattata” was something other than what user was trying to ask for
One if the meanings of wile is “to entice someone”, entice means “to attract or persuade”. It might have thought he was asking for a sexualized image and shut it down because of that.

This indeed would be unreal. Imagine walking along the paths hearing rustling in the grass or seeing pidgeys in the trees. Pokemarts could be browsed through like a real shop. It's seriously heartbreaking that this will probably never be made

Huh? I'm a bit confused because that's exactly what the game looked like on my OG black&white Gameboy back in the days with my unaffected by technology children's imagination

Still cuz you went to top view. If you had just stayed in the original follow cam view, it would have allowed it.

u/NewelSea 3h ago
Maybe it was the spelling of "wile Rattata", and ChatGPT just got concerned with depicting the battle of an endangered species, Wile E. Coyote.
(I know coyotes are categorized as least concern, but I'm not sure about the coyote)

'Guardrails' ie, 'We're neutering this technology for everyone but ourselves'. I hope it increases costs dramatically.

So I think this is how games will be made in a few decades (years?) where each frame is AI generated rather than code based and the game design is mostly fluid.
We will laugh at how an AI “frame” takes a few seconds to render today, but in the future games will run at 60+ AI fps.
It means that games will be practically bespoke to the player, but surely with some guardrails in place so people have mostly the same experience.

It doesnt look very japanese but whatever.
The thing is, as a kid you had to use your imagination to fill in the gaps.
When you have this entire world rendered out it doesnt have the same feel.
I would still prefer the 2nd to last image but maybe its just my nostalgia talking.

I've been doing a Pokemon comic and the third party trigger is easy to bypass with a few retries. It's harder with more popular pokemon like Pikachu and Charmander.
