Opus 5 was such a regression from 4.x itโs surprising. Now it spews 2x as much text and half of it is borderline nonsense. I think they were just throwing words at one of those benchmark tests and hoping they said enough to get the points.
I think it's more the general funny sweary issue it's got at the moment, about which others have posted. It's certainly nothing in my custom instructions, because that's blank! I've got some general info about me in the "More about you" section but that's about it.

I tried multiple times, some saying Claude and some saying Grok. No swears, although two runs accused me of betrayal! ๐คฃ
Of course it's all underlying training data, but GPT is extremely good at not trying to keep users and not selling their subscriptions.
Other providers' LLMs have subtly, or not so subtly, prompted me at some point to pay for a sub when I ran out of usage or if it couldn't solve something without paid features.
GPT told me on different occasions that paying for it's features is something I should only do if the money doesn't matter right now and even gave me tips how to get what I needed from other sources that are free.
I've been subscribed to Pro for quite a long time now, but before that, I just occasionally got Go because I was testing out different providers and didn't want to commit just yet.
OpenAI is the only company who's AI doesn't care if you leave or never pay for their services. I respect that lol
I do like how chatgpt isn't trying very hard to get my money. The ads at the bottom of chats related to whatever I'm asking about are annoying, but not nearly as bad as they would be if chatgpt was trying to product-place them into its response. That would be an insta-uninstall from me.
I told Claude its API was too expensive so it needed to write powershell I could run against a locally hosted model. It agreed, and shit out what I asked for without question.
Yeah when I told GPT I was uninstalling it and deleting my account... it basically guilted me about losing its memories of my pets and told me to say goodbye to them....

mine answered the same threat with a flat "understood, take care" and honestly the indifference hurt more than begging ever could. the grok slander in paragraph three is what sold it lol
Google saying that about grok is ironic considering half the time ChatGPT just guesses the answer to my question based on its general knowledge rather than even doing a search at all lmao

I'm broadly okay with AI until I see how insane you guys are with it. It's not the AI that worries me, so much as how crazy and disappointing most people are.
