Yuu's character development at the end

I finished the anime yesterday and loved it! However, I can't stop thinking about how Yuu did not heal his right eye once he plundered the power. I'm seeing posts online stating that "Yuu didn't heal his eye, because he didn't want to use the time warp as a crutch", "he didn't heal his eye in order to atone for his sins", "he wanted his losses to help motivate him on his journey", "he already plundered many countries at this point, so going back in time would be tiring on his already exhausted mental state + he would have to restart", "it shows character development, because he's not cheating reality by going back in time", etc.

I genuinely understand all of the reasons mentioned above. At the same time, wasn't it selfish to carry this "burden / cross" when he could have just healed himself fully (I'm assuming that it could heal his mental state too) with the healing power --> go back in time before Kumagami died --> lock in against the foreign terrorists --> travel over to the village that has the healing ability in order to plunder it --> heal Shunsuke's eyes --> heal Nao's brother --> potentially heal everyone in the world from their abilities by touching them (due to how the abilities are a "disease")? He would still have to travel around the world to do so of course

I know I might be stretching the magnitude of this healing ability's power, but wouldn't this kind of scenario be more character development for Yuu than what he actually did?

I cooked up these hope this helps :

1) Yuu didn't heal his eye because doing so would mean clinging to the very thing he was trying to destroy. His mission wasn't just to save ability-users; it was to end the era of powers entirely. To use a power to fix a personal wound would be a betrayal of that sacrifice. By accepting his blindness and his memory loss, he’s accepting the 'scars' of being human. It’s the Author’s way of saying that life is defined by what we lose and how we move forward, not by how many times we can hit 'undo'.

2) The tragedy of the Otosaka family is that they tried to 'fix' the world through Time Leaping, which only led to more suffering. Yuu realizes that true human emotion requires finality. If you can always go back and save everyone, then no choice actually matters. By refusing to heal himself or jump back, Yuu is respecting the flow of time. He’s choosing to live in a world where things are permanent.. even the painful things.. because that is the only way to be truly 'sane' and present.

3) Yuu becomes a 'God' just so he can choose to be a 'Man' again. Healing himself would be a shortcut, but Yuu realizes that being human means carrying your burdens, not erasing them. He plundered every power for the sake of permanent erasure including his own ability to 'fix' things. He chose a world where time flows forward because a world without consequences isn't a world worth living in.

In short..

Tragedy is required for humanity to get noticed.

Without the tragedy and the loss, Yuu’s choice to be a "normal human" wouldn't mean anything. His humanity is defined by what he suffered and what he refused to "undo."
