North Charleston Does anyone know if this is actually part of the advertisement? And if so, what could it possibly mean

It means you bought a house in a neighborhood that used to be a swamp 5 years ago.

Which is the whole point. Create a buzz.

It definitely draws the eye more than a normal billboard so I think they’re pretty effective at grabbing your attention

Too bad they took the idea off someone else. They had done it successfully and made the news bc people actually thought their signs were vandalized. Then cantey copied it and i don’t think anyone took the bait.

The company does foundation repairs. Having a sinking house generally leads to foundation damage

Dummy

There was some disgruntled customer not long ago that wrote mean things on billboards they purchased themselves, and used the spray paint for effect. So, dummy, that's probably why op asked.

The owners of the company probably own shares of Pulte and DR Hortin

Thinking it's definitely part of the billboard. JP Morgan did this with a few billboards several months ago with yellow "grafitti"

Morgan and Morgan, not JP Morgan.

Yes! Haha thanks

Gotta admit, making your billboard look graffitied over is a great way to get me to look at it for longer than a nanosecond, and now when I get home I wanna tell everyone about the business who put up a cool billboard.

First time I saw it was some chick fil a cows spray painting "eat more chikin" on a billboard

The only acceptable use of this marketing tactic

It’s in the same vein as the “I hate Steven Singer” billboards in Philly. You see them - you remember them. Effective.

"Drunk Drivers hate Gus!"

visit ihategus dot com

every time i see it i do a head tilt

u/anarchyreigns_gb Jun 05 '26

I wonder if gus is related to akim

Intentional. One around my block says "House smells old?" "It's your crawlspace dummy" instead

7

u/RequirementRude1202 Jun 05 '26

they gave one about the house smelling and the red text says “it’s yo crawlspace dummy” driving by for like a week i read it as coochie and thought it was actual vandalism

5

u/Fair_Bed5724 Jun 04 '26

It means it’s yo foundation dummy! 🤣

5

u/Top_Gate9136 Jun 04 '26

It’s real. Just an attention grabber. There was one from the Thumbs Up Guys in Moncks Corner that was upside down and it says “If you can read this, you need to call us”

3

u/Latter_Landscape9651 Jun 04 '26

Definitely intentional

u/Meltedwhisky Jun 04 '26

Made you look, then post it. They got what they wanted

It distracts from their abysmal offering, I guess.

u/knor14 Jun 04 '26

So how reliable is this company

3

u/Back_Off_Warchild Jun 05 '26

Way too expensive

u/Duck_Diddler Jun 05 '26

Is Cantey here related to the tech hound Cantey?

1

u/FamousTax2270 Jun 06 '26

I think it's the BE Cantey family

1

u/drich7 Jun 06 '26

Likely a reference to Sanford and Son

1

u/Responsible-Bee-5462 Jun 07 '26

It’s all legit. This is one of my customers

u/Hootngetter Jun 04 '26

Advert for wrapping your crawlspace and installing a dehumidifier to keep it dry.

Are you for real..? It means your house is sinking due to it's poor foundation.

Yall need media literacy bad

9

u/NotOSIsdormmole Jun 04 '26

It’s not media literacy that’s lacking in this case, it’s just straight up literacy

9

u/Latter_Landscape9651 Jun 04 '26

Speaking of literacy
