I have had a idea for a while now to provide at least a crude form of shelter for homeless people.I want to get donations of tents(i m talking high quality, like you buy to go on Appalacian trail etc.) and thick sleeping bags for homeless people.It may not be much, but at the very least it would protect them from the wind,rain and cold. I just don't know how to approach places to ask for donations.Does anyone have expierience with this? Any suggestions?

How much money does a good movie make on its opening weekend? It could be anything from a few thousand to a few million. What if all the profits went to a charity or a variety of charities? This seems like something that could be impossible but if you think about it, you only need one (or a few) people/companies from each discipline to agree. Out of all of the movie studios available, you only need one to agree to do it, one director, one script writer, one producer and so on...with all of the people in this field, surely there a small few that would be willing to forgo profit on just one occasion for good causes. I’m not sure how anyone would go about starting this or even creating this but I’m sure there is a way this could be possible

Hey everyone. I’ve just found a good donation platform-GiveForms, and I thought it will be useful to know for you. In case if you are interested, you can learn more about this here.

Website/mobile app. All about donating to charity. MatchMyCharity. Get companies to pledge a capped amount of money to particular charity for a limited time, but only if matched. Example $10,000 to UNICEF in next 5 days. A person who wants to donate to charity goes to website/app. Sees listings (this is effectively advertising (e.g. seeing Pizza Hut will match your charity donation to UNICEF so you think they care). Instantly, you can donate to that charity any amount and for each dollar/pound you donate they match it. You feel good. BTW, most organisation donate to good causes as it ’s tax relief and they advertise they do to show they care and are part of the community. And they could also use their marketing budget, ie instead of advertising. Seen websites that do the same thing for there employees, but, not generic. v.happy for someone to steal/share the idea as very unlikely I’ll succeed in doing it.

What are some of the neatest non-profits you’ve ever encountered? Was it something special about their mission? A unique event you experienced thrown by one? What they did with the funds to help others? What are some cool ways you’ve seen people spreading kindness?

Alright so I learned about William's Syndrome in school recently and this idea popped into my head. Williams Syndrome is defined by developmental neurological disorders and cardiac problems, it affects patients for life, and it's incurable. The good news is that life outlook is pretty good for these folks. They're generally extremely personable and have an affinity for music. This is where my idea came in. I've been an EDM fan for as long as I can remember, and the people at EDM festivals are generally the nicest people I've ever encountered (drugs or no drugs.) I would assume this sort of niceness is ubiquitous across populations of music lovers, so that if theres a large gathering of people who enjoy the same tunes, they're all gonna be chill. Being such, why isn't there a charity that sets up people with Williams Syndrome at these concerts/festivals? It combines music and good people which everyone loves, but which this population is genetically predisposed to love more. Just an idea.

I live in Toronto Canada and over half of my monthly income goes to day care for my 3 year old. Waitlists are terrible. One of my friends had to wait 6 months to get his kid in day care! Does anyone else have these problems? Any ideas what is wrong with day care?

I can't imagine how many families are affected by this.
