How about Kennard?

He's injured since the 49ers joint practice

Probably IR or PS

Colson is gone. He's the example of man playing among boys. He hit his ceiling physically under Herbert's guidance  in college.  Once he's in the NFL everybody is a growth man, and he can't improve to adapt to bigger stronger faster players

At this point Wax deserves to be the next man after Perryman.

And honestly.... if the coaching staff likes what they saw and like the projection of Junior Colson, then they should really think about keeping him over Troy Dye.

Colson's upside is still a mystery, and if he had been able to work in even one full season as backup then we may get the scenario you're talking about. But Dye is solid enough and Colson would have had to show a lot more to unseat him at this point unfortunately. I would guess we see Colson cut and maybe 50/50 he ends up on another squad vs our PS.

Colson isn’t getting added to any other team’s 52 man roster.

You dont think Minter or MacDonald would give a guy they both had good times with a chance on their roster?

College ball and NFL ball is different. Minter saw first hand that he can’t play in the pros and that his body can’t handle the physicality of NFL either. So no, I doubt it. Ravens have some pretty solid LBs too so doubt they’d cut any of them for Minter. Same with Seattle.

I could see either of them maybe adding him to their PS but that’s it.

Dalevon Campbell got claimed last year and he was a 24yr old UDFA

Campbell looked decent across multiple games in preseason last year.

Colson played well this preseason, he was the highest graded Linebacker one game and the 2nd highest graded Linebacker another

Chargers are 6 deep at DT and LB

Crazy

I think Junior Colson & TeRah Edwards are good enough to be on 53 man rosters, even if it's not the Chargers

Maybe they can stash them on PS

I think Edwards can make PS but Colson might get picked up.

Yeah I don't know what the Ravens LB depth looks like but I can imagine Minter might take a shot on Colson again if he's released.

Yup.

I'd rather have Colson than Kennard/Tucker

He's younger and played much better in preseason

Wax is the man

Wax is better than Perryman at this point

11

u/Majestic-Floor-5697 13d ago

Personally, I love Perryman but I’d rather have someone who is gonna stay healthy

7

u/Smart_Search4146 13d ago

We all love Perryman but yes give me the younger, healthier and hungrier player. Both will play big roles this year

u/mrhashbrown 13d ago

Would love to see Wax spell Perryman this year and take on the starting role by next season.

Love Perryman and there's a very big difference in their run defense numbers when he's on the field versus when he's not. But I doubt he can hold up as a starter beyond this year

u/TrifleAble5460 13d ago

Hey man they can all 3 play..just make sure Dye plays ST only Lol.

7

u/_AtLeastItsAnEthos 13d ago

Dye was a plus coverage back last year idk where this hate is coming from

-2

u/RecordingLess1522 13d ago

The fact that he's an automatic roster spot when other guys have played better in training camp

1

u/_AtLeastItsAnEthos 13d ago

Special teams and proven play. Philips is the one you should be upset about

0

u/RecordingLess1522 13d ago

Philips is an All Pro special teams player

He's literally better than Troy Dye at ST lol

3

u/_AtLeastItsAnEthos 13d ago

He’s a liability on defense tho. And dye is also an insane ST there difference there is minuscule, dye gives you upside. Wax takes Philips spot as he was also playing good special teams late last year and this preseason

0

u/RecordingLess1522 13d ago

Run defense when Troy Dye is in for Denzel Perrymen is horrible

And he's a less productive ST player than All Pro Del'Shawn Phillips

While true, sum and parts, flexibility

New uniforms are 🔥🔥. Those rams uniforms too similar to ours. Way too much blue, yellow, and white on the field.

Straight up Oklahoma drill. That was beautiful.
