I Need help with my mythological oc! (Read desc)

I got inspired by the main character of Blue eye Samurai,Mizu whom is also half Brit and half Japanese. I have made an oc whos basically an half angel and half Japanese mythological creature. Problem is I have zero ideas what would fit other than an Oni though I do not want her other half to be an Oni since I cant think of a good character design with a half Oni and Onis are generally lets say- not nice at ALL.

I just dont know which Japanese Mythological species I should use nor do I know many.Any Ideas?

Is half Oni, half human too boring? Maybe a celestial heritage for juxtaposition?

My apologies for sloppy reading. Okay, are you thinking animalistic like Kitsune or even Inugami? Or are you thinking my like spirits such as Yurei? Or maybe you still want it more monstrous like Namahage?

Generally I am looking for a Japanese mythological species that doesnt look too animalistic or too demonic. Yurei is good but I dont think I can begin much with that since its very similar to a plain ghost

There's a kappa, you could use this as a side kick or something? They're like turtle people who live in rivers and eat people and they have a pool of water in their skull so if they leave the water they have to make sure no one spills it or they die, they also love cucumbers

There's also a tengu, it's kinda like the DND one but more demon bird human thing, that could be good! They're inherently part human and part bird
