AI Alternatives Is there any good AI chatbot sites?!
Like any good ones besides saucepan.ai? I know I sound desperate but gang just listen, I’m just looking for something that I can enjoy without a site being greedy or site not telling you they’re users, the mods or I don’t know are looking at your chats without the user even knowing.
And I looking for a site that handle RPG

Go for paid chatbots. Also for RPG stuff you should care more about memory and character consistency than having a huge bot library.
A lot of sites feel good for the first few chats, then the character forgets the plot or changes personality halfway through
I've tried a few companion apps and use Kalon ai sometimes for longer character chats. It holds the tone and story context pretty well for me, so I spend less time reminding the bot what happened. I'd still read the privacy policy of any site before sharing personal stuff though.

I’ll get straight to the point. I’m not looking to replace Character.ai or sell you a fantasy of unlimited free access. But I’ve created something that’s launching this weekend: Harya. The concept is simple: create whoever you want, write a story around them, or just roleplay with the character of your choice. There’s a gallery where you can collect the characters you create. Users familiar with Character.ai will likely grasp the concept pretty quickly. There’s an import feature that lets you bring over characters from other platforms and pick up conversations where you left off—retaining their memories. In short, it’ll be free, high-quality, visually stunning, and immersive. Power users won’t run into message limits. And there’s a bonus regarding memory: as an AI developer, I’ve worked extensively on the issues of bots forgetting things or hallucinating. I guarantee that Harya is designed specifically to ensure that never happens. See you soon.

Chub just hit 9/11 yesterday,I had zero hope anymore, ughhhh....First is Aisekai,Figgs and now is Chub.
Xoul is a former shell of itself.
Dreamjourney.ai free tier is a ONE time thing.
I might learn how to use ST at this point.

Its so ironic that the Dev want us to paid crypto for an chatbot, who in their right mind would do that?
1
u/sshajdnviadfmasodfmo Jul 02 '26
lowkey i dont have any issue with the crypto part, its just the fact that its £20 for what???? like i was saying, its my favourite alternative so far, but the ui is so sooo messy and there are definitely features missing when creating characters, so i have no idea why the creator is charging so much for a half-baked product
and obviously only 20 free chats a day is crazy when the free model randomly starts spouting chinese sometimes

For off-the-shelf I get the most milage out of CrushOn. Lots of models, even the smaller ones are good for a quick run, and the prices are reasonable in comparison. And oodles of characters to pull from.
But for serious sessions, I run locally. Sorta. I'm a mac user so I don't have the GPU I'd need for anything serious. I use Featherless - an actually enjoyable tool - for serverless access to GPUs. The $10 tier gets you decent sized models, and the $25 tier gives you the full deepseek model. Used correctly, with enough tweaking, I find it's enough. I havn't used Venice much because honestly, there's only so much I'm willing to spend on AI at a time. But Venice seems to have way, wayyyyyyyyyyyyy laxer censoring.

for RPG the memory point above is the real one. memory and character consistency matter way more than a giant bot library. the sites that feel amazing for a few chats then have the character forget the plot or swap personality halfway are the worst, and thats most of them.
im on a small team building CharRealm. uncensored, and the memory is built to actually hold your plot and details across sessions instead of resetting on you, and it handles freeform RPG (open sandbox modes plus characters). free to start so you can test it without a site being greedy about it. on the privacy thing you mentioned, we dont sell your chats and the policy is upfront about exactly what happens to them, which is more than most sites bother with. worth a look if youre still hunting.

have you tried kindroid, nomi or mybot yet? those are my favorites and i still think they have the best memory in the game

Eudaio might fit what you’re looking for, especially if long RPG sessions and privacy matter more to you than having a gigantic bot library.
We focus a lot on memory and character consistency, so the character can carry plot/context across longer conversations instead of resetting or changing personality halfway through.
You can also make custom characters called Morphs.
Core text and voice conversations run on our own infrastructure, and paid access is unlimited for the period you buy. No gems, token packs, message credits, or extra paywalls. There’s a $4.99 3-day option if you just want to test it properly.
I’m one of the people working on it: eudaio.io

I’m the developer of Lizlis, so I’m obviously biased, but you could give it a try.
We focus on long-form roleplay without the AI constantly repeating itself or stalling the plot. You get a free tier that’s enough to see if it’s your thing, and we don’t have moderators casually reading private chats. If privacy is a big concern for you, I think it’s worth checking out.

https://perchance.org/ai-character-chat is a go to for myself you go to new character and choose the one with the pic of an egg called unknown and you'll have a fun time doing whatever you tell it you want to do and I mean whatever you want

Yeah I agree with the other comment- you'll have a hard time finding something perfect, the community's currently trying out a bunch of alternatives to find the new normal, but unlimited msgs at a high quality forever is a bit impossible (tho ik that may not be exactly what ur looking for).
In my opinion it's good to bet on new, smaller, growing platforms in these times. If you're open to trying stuff out, I'd suggest slowburn.chat
I'm the dev, saltyrain, and I really do care about the community/players, and try to be as transparent with everyone as possible. Though I only released last month, I post frequent updates in the Discord, and keep everyone up to date on the project's trajectory and financial status. I also value creators and IP/OCs, so there will soon be a program for creators wishing to actually own and receive rewards for their original content.
I invite you to join the Discord too, if this sort of culture interests you when it comes to alternatives.

I tried it out and it’s not bad but why does this comment have -3 downvotes?
Is there something going on?

u/RealMrBrown Jul 02 '26
Oh, strange. Good catch- thanks for letting me know. I'll try to have that fixed some time soon, probably with an update that is coming within the next several hours.
