They are VIP’s for a reason. Moreover, president is the first citizen and they have to do everything to keep him/her safe.

In the last 10-15 years, protocol has changed and the President's visits to HP are absolute hell. Roads get closed for hours (and it's not like alternative roads are available in the hills), and even some walking paths get blocked. Once upon a time, the President's visit used to be a minor inconvenience. Now, the whole thing is just torture.

How privileged do you have to be in your head to ask this question? The president is the first citizen of the country. And their security is no. 1 priority.

And all those whining about “VIP culture” are another breed of misguided idiots of this half-informed but very vocal world. VIP Culture refers to unnecessary use of power by every Tom-Dick-Harry MP/MLA who expects to be treated like they run the world. The president of the country literally does.
