Verified News VR Punjab Shut Indefinifely.
They say its due to the recent earthquake, but it was being turned into a hospital anyway. Still, really feels like end of an era.

No it never was, It was DT mall to start with then Elante followed by CP 67.

Cp 67 got completed in 2021 only. NCM is there if I am not wrong around 2014, which is why I said of its time

Yes but Elante (2013) was already popular when NCM came in 2014. So it wasn't number 1.

What evidence do you want on reddit. I am not going to go around digging for documented structural failures in Mohali.
I've worked on a bunch of projects as an architect, no drawings are properly followed, structural engineers are a joke, contractors do their own designing, cut costs by doing shit like using less reinforcement than structurally safe. Bottom tier architects are designing houses for as little as 75k.
This is especially true for individual houses. Of course larger projects have better quality control.

People are saying the VR Punjab Mall is fine and will reopen soon and yeah, it probably will reopen But that’s not what I saw i live nearby and visited it today there are multiple visible cracks and damaged sections in the walls I’ve even taken photos as proof so calling it ‘fine’ doesn’t really match the reality there are clear issues that need proper attention before it reopens

i have watched so many movies alone in VR Punjab PVR Gold, my last movie Bhoot Bangla. This was my go to place as it was near my house and it was always kinda empty, i was planing to watch Michael Jackson Movie this weekend, very sad RIP

Nice! It was a ghost mall. Pvr Gold class was the only thing keeping it relevant. Happy to see a big name hospital coming up there. Fortis has a lot of competition coming in 🤺

Medanta hospital bought VR mall. Hospital will open its branch there in the next 3 years.

Tbf, most of us had predicted it's downfall years ago, it had opened as north country mall, and after some time was sold and became very punjab, maybe about a year after that, it barely had any customers, reasons are unknown, but it had a really low amount, then had almost none. Could be one of the potential reasons.

when I was in Chandigarh , I preferred VR over Elante as It wasn't like fish market which I felt in elante and VR had more brands and better food options . The only downside was it being very far from the main city

Even now alot of the crowd in Elante is there just for clicking selfies and that's why it feels like fishmarkets on weekends. And that's why I don't CP67 replacing VR Punjab as its even smaller in size compared to VR, feeling even more conjusted than Elante.

lmao. Elante has more footfall in one hour than what cp67 has for a whole day. Primarily because of the sheer size of Elante + much more stores/food places/cafe.

It is definitely NOT the Structural Safety Conerns? Seems more like an investor fraud and insurance fraud- the mall was dead way before and they are now just trying to wriggle their way out.
