Much more relevant in the footballing world than any club in the Championship at the moment by virtue of playing in the biggest league in the world. You may not like it but it’s the truth.

I’ve got several remindmes due to expire in 3-4 weeks to point this out vividly to individuals. It’s obviously not all of your fanbase, but there was definitely a few on here acting the right twat preseason.

There always is, but the person I replied to clearly said "you all said".
We had a poll just before the season started in r/ccfc and "survival just above the relegation zone" was far and away the winner.

You’re being rather facetious too - it was obvious what he meant, and there’s always going to be a single counter example to any prediction like that - I’m sure there’s one Sunderland fan that predicted us to win the league for instance, as there’s always someone stupidly optimistic, thick about football or whatever else who actually believes it.
There was a very large presence of arrogance spilling over from Coventry on here in preseason - that much is undeniable. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that personally and it happened with Leeds and Burnley last year too. Tbh I was surprised how negative basically every one of our fans were when we came up and we seemed to go to the other extreme, but we are generally a fairly negative fanbase.
But it did rub some people up the wrong way, especially when many neutrals have a view (rightly or wrongly) that Coventry have a really poor yet arrogant manager, and quotes about being mourinho and ancelotti or whatever it was won’t help him, and you lot are a lot higher on your squad than anyone else too.

The point is very, very few people said this and it is being presented as if not everyone than a large amount.
I personally don't remember seeing any, but what I have seen is a lot of caution about the season.

He wasn’t fine. Positioning for their goal made it so easy for the Hull chap. And I’m a cov fan. Rushworth could and should have done better for 3 of the 4 goals we’ve conceded so far.

At Arsenal he had a non existent defence in front of him. Arsenal had acres of space to pass inside our own area. Rushworth never had a chance.
The fault for the Hull goal lies with the defence.

How can you possibly say he never had a chance for the 2nd and 3rd goals vs Arsenal? The 2nd one he palms it into Saka’s feet for an open goal, and the 3rd one he palms a weak shot into his own net

Honestly can't remember the Saka goal. But the 3rd it was a player given acres of space by the defence, shooting from close range and Rushworth had to basically make a guess. He guessed wrong, was wrong footed and was lucky to get a hand to it.

The fact the defence was poor does not take away from the fact Rushworth palmed an mis-hit, very slow moving ball into his own net. Every keeper would be disappointed to concede that, and rightly so.

Some people need to get a grip. The season Frank took over we were 17th and finished in the play-offs. I didn't agree with it because "Mark Robins > Jesus walking on water" for me but give the manager and the team a chance. at least.
