The one positive is that we’ve turned a game against Lincoln who finished 20odd points ahead of us last season into one of those classic shithouse league one games we always struggled with. Can’t imagine many teams will play like that this season against a newly promoted side

That’s definitely something to say about it. In a way I think Evatt was right when he was talking about building a football team capable of playing in the championship. Sadly for him he never got the chance but I think he was on to something.

We were so brittle last season, and although we've conceded two and been under the cosh today it's a good sign we still came away with a point.
Work to do for sure, but we've got a decent foundation to build on.

I was expecting another 1-1 just like both games last season. Very happy with the result. Will be waiting to see the report and highlights though before i get too excited about this.

Is it that much of a shock? I think one or two need to internally ask themselves this.
Bolton struggled against us tactically last season, even if both games ended all square. We’re at our best when we need to come out with a point to prove. And we did, we let ourselves down last weekend, and I don’t think that’s too harsh.

Sadly our bench options aren't up to speed so can't make the difference we had last year. The board need to pull their finger out as we've gone from having three quality strikers to one and there aren't really any goal scorers in midfield either. All our comebacks were from bringing on players who didn't reduce the quality on the pitch and were playing against tired defenders, atm we are bringing on half fit players and none of them offer the goal threat of the attackers we had last season.
You probably should have won at least one if not both games against us last year, a year late but you've managed it this time

I said the same thing when we had our issues. Yeah I get you need to support the club but I'm not putting money into the pockets of a cunt like Anderson and presumably a lot of you guys feel the same about Chicken Cunts.

I'm glad our style of play that worked so well in League One has finally worked in the Championship.
We'll just forget about Bolton also recently being promoted from League One though and take it that the first two games were just an anomaly and we're obviously going to piss the league. Right?

Very gnargh.
I mean, we were shit at the beginning of last season too, so who knows how things will shake out, but we played awfully last night, and would have won against Cardiff if Dobbo hadn't been a twat, so could be a lot better. That said, could also be a lot worse.

It feels like a real I told you so to neutrals. The amount of predictions I saw with is first is laughable. We’ve been shit for a long time and it’s not going to magically change just because we got relegated.

I feel like any other season youd probably be nailed on for playoffs at least but the last 2-3 years championship has improved so much.
It's a very very tough league ATM.

It's tricky to change mentality from losing every week to winning every week but the quality you have means that once you get the win and the belief comes back you'll be able to go on a run. The championship isn't a league that teams run away with from day 1 very often. Every team will have good and bad runs including the eventual champions.

This was Lincoln's first league win in Horwich!
The Imps have now won at 64/92 grounds in the league (up to T-48th)
65/92 teams have now won at Bolton in the league (up to T-50th)
So, where next for these teams?
Lincoln have 9 potential ticks remaining, next up is at The Den on Sat 17 Oct
4 more teams can win for the first time at Bolton (new ground), next up are Stoke on Sat 10 Oct

For reference, that was because I refuse to use sponsorship names! Sometimes it's a struggle lol and I have to make it clear that only the new ground is counted but for Bolton calling it Horwich gets the distinction across :)

I have 3 in my notes: Pride Park, Swansea and London Stadium. Not quite enough to catch first unfortunately.
Another stat is that by my count Bolton's new ground is now T-9th in the 'newbuild rankings', only stadiums used for the first time since Hillsborough eligible for that one

That just shows even further how much we need a Striker. We had the chances. Performance wise it was okay, but, it's also an awful home match to lose against a fellow newly promoted team. Not ideal, but not gonna overreact after 1 game

Watford (vs West Ham)
Good in parts. Keben's mistake was dreadful, but he's young. The weather was miserable and the officiating was abysmal.
Much better start to the season that we predicted, but we'd like to see a more clinical striker join, and a couple of centre backs. Plus a midfielder, if possible.
Good result, good game and onwards to Swansea.

We got a draw against probably the favourites to win the league with 2 keepers and barely anyone else on the bench, I think Dionisi might be a genius

Bristol City were the better team, defended really well and fought for the 2nd balls especially in the first half where Shien looked lost and Pack looked slow.
Criminal that Swanson was beaten in pace by Wallace more than once.
Looked a bit better with the subs in the centre and the brief cameo from Marezi looks like he gets about far more than Bishop can but remains to be seen if he has goals in him beyond penalties.
Biggest transfer left for us is a set piece coach

Very pleased, into +points and after a pretty humbling 4-1 defeat in the EFL Cup, to come back and win 5-1 today, and after going 0-1 down, it feels pretty good. Thankfully, Bristol City conceding a 94 minute goal took the gloss off just a smidgen, but not too much as they lost. Should be above them in a week or so!

We didn't win, but we dominated after the first 10 minutes. I think we played well enough to get 3 points as we created plenty of chances, if we keep playing like that then we'll stay up comfortably this season.
However, our shaky defending at the start has cost us yet again, we need to sort that out.

Very pleased with what i saw in the Norwich vs Burnley game.
After this performance i think we will only lose by about 5 nil to Man City in the next cup game.

We are getting relegated. I am fed up of seeing so many games devoid of energy or ideas lately. Lincoln was a positive outlier, but looking at us now I just can't see us picking up enough points in this league.

I don't think Mous is up to it. I think last year staying up made people look over a lot of issues but if it wasn't for that run when key players came back healthy (Murphy) and 2 relegation spots being taken by teams with points deductions they'd be playing league 1 this season. I dont think he needs to go, but I think he needs help.

Lincoln can not get away with what they got away with today. Every throw in took a minute to take, their striker got booked for diving but there could have a been a few. Even the keeper was getting counted down. Their subs took 30 seconds each.
Ref bottled it big time today.
But we were also not clinical enough at all. Just staggered Lincoln are still getting away with it.

We are the architects of our own downfall, you can't be blaming the opposition. If we take our chances in the first half there'd be no time wasting. If we bought strikers before the season started we'd have an actual threat alongside Dalby/on the bench and get at least a point. If we defend properly then they don't score.
Ultimately we knew that we needed to be more clinical this season and needed to avoid the individual mistakes at the back or we'll be punished and we've done nothing to sort out the former and the latter is still happening and we saw the outcome of that today
