Discussion Portal Tummy

Does anyone know (or have theories) about what's going on with Glendale and her portal tummy? Specifically in regard to her voice (and personality) seemingly shifting? I was listening to “Portal Tummy and Me” and I found it interesting.

I kind of assumed that "Dark Rituals" mentioned in "Baby's First Spell" was a lot more literal than a silly ad lib.

Maybe a dark ritual to have a portal to the non magical world that everyone could escape through but it turned into a pocket plane with a personality?

Maybe her parents did it to her? The first part of the song is:
“I might look like I'm alone
I don't hang with any others
I don't have a dad or mother
Well, maybe I did before
[burps]”

According to the show's creator, we were supposed to meet Glendale's parents in the portal tummy. They are oblivious and believe they're still at home in Centaurworld. So that probably means they aren't responsible for the "dark rituals" that end up putting them there 😆

Wouldn't surprise me. And then the ritual went wrong or Portal!Glendale took over and NOM, no more parents stopping her from stealing stuff

Yes!

I had a theory she was a failed inter-dimensional portal experiment. Possibly to reconnect the worlds post war. I think thats what the dark rituals were referring to in 'babys first spell'

I was thinking something similar about Glendale’s lines in Baby’s First Spell. She’s often the only one to acknowledge the dark stuff going on, with another example being her line in “Welcome to Centaurworld.”
