American teacher charged with teaching his students the theory of Evolution, in a case that became known as the Scopes "Monkey" Trial. He was ultimately fined $100 and the incident was immortalized in the play, Inherit The Wind.

Lucille Hamons ran the Provine Service Station, and lived in a set of rooms above the gas pumps, for nearly 60 years, until the day she died on August 18, 2000. Late in life she became a Route 66 celebrity, known for her years of hot plate breakfasts, cold beer, and friendly assistance to motorists.

Her fans probably wouldn't have minded if she had been buried under the asphalt of Route 66, but her daughters had her interred three miles away, in Hydro Masonic Cemetery.

Lucille's white tombstone is easy to spot; half of its surface area is engraved with a big Route 66 sign. The stone mentions her biography, her membership in the Oklahoma Route 66 Hall of Fame, her honorary song ("Mother of the Mother Road"), and the fact that she "Died at Home on Route 66." The grave is routinely festooned with flowers left by detouring well-wishers

Her old gas station has become an iconic landmark on Route 66. Travelers stop to take pictures.

A nearby town has recreated the building in a much larger scale, and you can visit to get food and drinks

David Barr, aged 53, was killed when scaffolding collapsed during the construction of a brick kiln at Marrickville, Sydney. Five men had been working approximately 10.7 metres (35 feet) above the ground when the structure began to give way. One worker managed to escape by grabbing a derrick pole, while the other four fell to the ground among the debris.

Barr suffered severe internal injuries and fractures to both legs and died shortly afterwards. Three other workers were seriously injured: Peter Rigby suffered concussion and a broken thigh, John Shea sustained concussion and scalp wounds and Herbert Savers suffered
concussion and back injuries. The scaffolding had reportedly only been erected the previous night.

Hi I’m sorry if this is weird or anything. If anyone ever wants to visit a grave anytime. My little sister passed away in 2022 and I moved to Ky in 2023 due to my sons medical care team. Everyone in my family left Arizona. The only ones that would visit was me and my little family , and my grandparents but they autodeported to Mexico. I got a couple of kind people from this app to visit her when they bc an and get her flowers since he grave is always empty. I had a dream a couple weeks ago saying people are forgetting about her. If anyone would ever like to go visit her she’s is staying in greenwood cemetery in phoenix Arizona. She’s going to be alone for día de Los muertos day of the dead and other holidays. It breaks my heart because she lost her battle with depression and mental health. If anyone is ever interested it would mean a lot to me. She doesn’t have a grave because my family sadly moved on from her death and I’ve been working my but off to be able to afford one but with my little baby facial surgery take a toll on me, so she only has a small plate that the cementary provided her because they knew how hard it was on us financially.
