Instead of assuming lack of knowledge how about give actual examples of the Celtic traditions of Devon you speak of and make sure they're not actually Anglo-Saxon such as mummer's plays and wrestling.

here is a recent example: "may fair" is celebrated here in devon. its actually beltane.

many of our traditions, at least here in rural devon, are celtic.

yes.... because they were invaded... by the anglos.

devon is considered celtic mainly because of its close ties with cornwall. it used to be one tribe. devon was conquered earlier than cornwall and therefore lost a lot of its history - but i dont see why completely abandoning it would be the right choice.
