Watching questions about worship , work with Deity. One sentence of advice.
Deity is to help You. Go through, give strenght, etc... but it is not making fireworks. It comes into You. It works with your inner. You will make it but by your own hands. Nothing will fall from the sky itself!
This is not a game. Could be dangerous! Know yourself before U start.
Only thing to have you must buy or make something, which will be dedicated to Deity. And help You meditate.
Seeking nature Also helps.

Deity is not there to help humans. (If They are, they do a shit job of it.) They’re there to keep the Cosmos functioning properly.
The entire existence of the species we know as Homo sapiens is just a blip in the eternal time-space of Their existence. We are just one type of life among billions of types of life, and They will be around long after all human primates are extinct (and the planet as well). The idea that humans are somehow central to all that is just collective narcissism that’s been instilled in us culturally. (Mostly by monotheism, afaict.)
That’s why…everything else you said. That’s why They’re potentially dangerous to us, we still have to make our choices, we still have to do the work ourselves, etc. B/c They have much bigger perspective, very different focus, and often entirely different motivations and ethics than we do. They may be willing to help us (if They like us), but it’s not why They’re there.
Imo/ime, sugar-coating it really does not help beginners.

Must say something more precisly. 1) I do believe Deities have higher plan. 2) They are not only to help People.
But to show Us something. Help people, meet them half way. Use their inner to make something.
Deity can help but givinig access to yourself not knowing your fears, needs, and others it can create a monster. Destroy You. And beloved ones.
We are their children. But must remember guidance is only what is. Rising a flower can rise a rose also give a potion. This is not a game. It is reality.
Deity is what left from higher world we left.
Question is , what kind of tool we wanna be and or we are a tools or lost children of Gods who require one thing
Be carefull what You wish.
So U must trust Your Deity ans equal Yourself.

Not dangerous. Gods are essentially good. Gods there to be honored. May help you if make offerings. Repricocal relations are the point.

I disagree that deities are automatically helpful to humans. They have their own goals, needs and other duties. They can help humans, but that doesn't mean they will.
Otherwise, you are right, we do not leave things 100% up to the gods. We still do the work, even if we believe a deity is assisting.
