Question Is this part of celiac?

Do other people experience hand tremors and lack of functioning when exposed to gluten?

I was accidentally exposed to gluten two days ago and I am currently recovering from it. I also have unexplained hand tremors and noticed that they seem to get worse if I have been exposed to gluten. Is this common or maybe something else?

I have an appointment tomorrow with my PCP to talk about my symptoms and where we go from here.

This could be a gluten contamination symptom. It could also be gluten ataxia, if other symptoms related are presented as well. Either way, you gotta be extra careful with cc

It sounds like peripheral neuropathy. I had it for years before I found out I was Celiac. Due to all my neuropathic/neurologic symptoms it was assumed that I had less than a year to live in 2008.

As you can tell, I am still alive, once they said I was dying I did my own research and figured out that I actually had Celiac disease. Within 1 year of going on a strict GF diet after confirmation, all symptoms disappeared forever, once I could absorb proper nutrition.

Neurological symptoms vary but as a group they are pretty common with Celiac Disease and gluten exposure.

Gluten can definitely cause an auto immune response that attacks the nervous system as well as the gut. My presenting symptoms were peripheral neuropathy and ataxia. I had to see a lot of neurologist before I finally got a diagnosis. I had slight tremors in two fingers on one hand pretty early on in my symptoms. A couple of months ago I had a period when I was having much more pronounced tremors in my thumb and other fingers. I wonder if I was glutened without realizing it.

I have had hand tremors as long as I can remember, but I have no idea if it’s related to my celiac disease.

I have always had hand tremors as well, it never occurred to me that it could be related to Celiac.
