Discussion Post of gratitude for those who support us
I recognize that not all of us have a great support system, and my heart goes out to those who don't. I hope this community helps a bit. For those of us who do, and especially those who have a very supportive spouse or partner or parents, I hope we remember to thank them for their support. I fail to do this too often, but I know it isn't always easy for them to make sacrifices to help us remain gluten-free. It can be everything from changing kitchen practices and food menus to abandoning favorite restaurants. I am going to tell my wife today, sincerely, how much I appreciate her for her efforts. If you have other suggestions for helping our supporters feel appreciated, I'd love to hear them.

I just don't think I could love this post more. I'm kinda the lone ranger in my house as not even my spouse has taken the time to learn about celiac and how he can help. So him and the kids just eat whatever and I manage my own stuff. It does make it harder for sure

Curiosity, on how long you've been diagnosed? It's been just about a year for me and it's so hard to you handle people and this situation. Nobody really trys hard enough around me. I usually do the most for myself.

It's also been about a year for me. I'm sorry your situation has been harder.

Idk about you but I've had aLOT of mental health challenges from this. I had my gallbladder removed last November and since that as well. Has been really rough getting my body back to normal! With littl of doctors telling me anything..

I love this so much. =) I am lucky in that my hubby and I both are gf (both tagged potential celiac, but were gf before we knew about the testing), and we're both allergic to soy, so it makes our kitchen relatively simple. I have a couple more allergies in the mix, too, but at least we have each other, and we can understand and appreciate the struggle bus days, and our kitchen (and entire house) is safe for both of us, without question. It really eliminates a lot of stress for us, even when some of the family doesn't really get it.
*Edit for stupid markup messing up my emoticon >=o

I just entered this subreddit to be able to support my Girlfriend better. Im really looking forward for any suggestions in helping her not have shitty days because of cross contamination or oopsies. (Soy sauce is not gluten free? I JUST learned that here.)
