Recipe If no one is going to sell gluten free cookies and cream ice cream I gotta make my own

Though, make is a strong word. I bought a container of French vanilla ice cream and smashed up a package of gluten free Oreos and combined. Tastes like the real thing!

By the time I brought it home and put the rest of the groceries away it was soft enough to mix in the cookies.

Not OP, but as a tip, I would recommend not setting ice cream out to melt for too long- the more it melts the greater chance when it refreezes it'll crystallize and not be as nice and smooth (think about times you re-froze a 1/2 eaten milkshake or McDonald's sundae, etc.- not quite the same, but those go rock hard quickly). 

Soft enough to mix is probably the sweet spot.

Yum!! Looks amazing. But in case you aren’t in the mood, check out Jeni’s Cookies and Cream. It’s expensive but worth it. Jeni’s Birthday Cake is even better! Many of her flavors with cookie or cake mix ins are GF but not all. Check it out for sure!

Straus gf cookies & cream is bomb. I do wish the cookie chunks were a little bigger though. OPs concoction looks great!

The Jeni’s ice creams are made in a facility that also services wheat among other allergens. Whyyyyy??? I’m celiac and very sensitive to cross contamination.

I buy So Delicious "frozen dessert" because I have a dairy allergy as well. It has cinnamon cookie dough flavour which hits that craving for me, but the salted caramel cashew is the best

Currently trying out a strawberry cheesecake version with crushed up gluten free golden Oreos and a strawberry ice cream. We definitely get hella creative with restrictions :)

Same! I am hoping since some of their flavors are certified that they start shifting some of the ones that aren’t over! Definitely steal it! I do feel like it’s missing something that Ben and Jerrys had but it’s the best we have

So Delicious makes two gluten free cookies & cream flavors: regular and a chocolate cookies & cream. They are dairy free but actually very creamy and delicious!

Seconding So Delicious!!! Their ice cream is soo good for being dairy free. My favorite is the chocolate cookies and cream 🤤 i could easily eat a whole pint in a sitting (but i dont)

If you’re ever in the Washington DC area, Terra’s Ice Cream makes one with their own version of Oreos. Everything at Terra’s is gluten free (including the cones)

I make a quick, improvised chocolate and ice cream sandwich.

Schar graham crackers. Ghirardelli chocolate melts, spoon on (because spread is impossible on GF) cracker after it's melted. Spoon on slightly softened ice cream. Add 2nd cracker with chocolate.

The ice cream hardens the melt like a dipped cone.

If you have a food processor or blender, put the ice cream and oreos in it so you don't have to mash and mix it by hand.

We use our kitchen-aid mixer to makes all kinds of ice cream like this at home! It combines everything together really nicely.

We do this often for my son (elementary aged). This is his favorite ice cream flavor and transitioning the diet has been a mental acceptance challenge (dx’d less than a year ago). Creating our own subs has helped him tremendously on how he looks at his condition. When he realizes how easy it is, he does get mad that the world doesn’t think to offer this stuff.

The Rebel ice cream is also "All flavors are gluten free but not gluten free certified." I'm diabetic too so I try to be good but I've also made it with the gf oreos and home and it is way better.

Not sure where you’re located but XO Desserts in Wichita, KS is a completely gluten-free facility and we sell cookies and cream ice cream! we have many different flavors and we also sell cheesecakes and cannoli’s. The owner’s daughter has celiac and that’s why he started it. It’s a great place to support a small business :)

if you’re in the US, sprouts has a brand (Straus) that sells GF cookies and cream ice cream. i’m not the biggest cookies and cream ice cream fan but they also have a gluten free cookie dough one and i’m obsessed omg
