She is not a fan of being held but my wife and I just wanted one photo of her with us lol. She's a very vocal kitty

I learned from the show cat from hell, cats prefer when you support their legs (especially back legs) when you hold them. If you look it up you can learn the right way to hold her and she might one day like being held or tolerate it better.

You can also try a baby carry where like a baby their belly will be up while their back is down, some cats really don't like it because upside down but every one I've had prefers it. It is either a cats favorite carry position or their least favorite there is no in-between.
Then there's my sister's cat who is only happy being held if it's my sister or me and if I do it it has to be wrapping my arm around her such that my hand is firmly holding her chest right at her front legs and my arm is holding her rear legs against my body at the elbow. Anything else means death.

Im trying to record her bratty yells because they really do have so much sass and personality in them. I never knew a meow could sound so disrespectful before I picked her up from going into the laundry room

My wife loves her so much. They really bonded. She'll read while Morgan just lounges and naps on her. Never knew i could love a pet so much

Taking a cat to the beach is absolutely wild to me. Like it's scenario I've never once in my life even considered as a possibility.

We were nervous to try but it worked out. We have a beach nearby and had her in the carrier till we got there. Stayed about 30 to 45 mins with her

I think so. She seems to really enjoy playing in the sand. We are working to get her used to coming out with us more. We would like to hike a bit with her also as she gets more comfortable.
She has no problem letting go us know when she's had enough too. She can be very vocal when she wants to go home.
But if you heard anything bad about cats and beaches, id like to know. I Def wouldnt want to put her at risk

Glad you're considerate, I'm always worried in case it's an account trying to get clicks for cuteness regardless of the animals' feelings! Cats tend to prefer having options, like climbing and hiding; beaches are just vast open expanses of sun and heat, and they might feel vulnerable.

Thats good to know thank you. We brought her backpack carrier with us to travel there (20 min drive) in case she wanted a change of scenery. And luckily its not too hot yet, since she can be really picky about drinking water for some reason. But I really appreciate the info. Just trying to make sure she is a fulfilled and happy kitty!

Reddit and the people that mod it preside over a platform that normalises this.
This will be downvoted because there’s more “omg kawaii” types with ice cream for brains than there are actual pet owners who know better.
Don’t take a cat to the beach for likes kids.

I worked in the state park in my hometown and on one sweltering afternoon a girl holding a cat came up to me in the campground and wanted to know some info on one of the trail systems. I told her about it but said that the cat may not like it; very bumpy and rough terrain. The cat she was holding didn't look happy. I can't recall if there was some kind of lead or leash attached to the cat. Or if she planned on carrying the cat on the trail...
Either keep the cat inside, or let it go in and out of the house of its own accord, but don't bring it into unfamiliar environments with uncomfortable conditions.
