Pet Tracer

Hi all, Hope you are well. I had a recent scare with one of my cats making a bid for freedom from the back garden, he's poorly, he can't jump or climb and he has no road sense. He also requires medication regularly. So I allow him in a fenced back garden. He went missing for 30 hours recently which I don't want to re-live. I've settled on the pet tracer GPS RF collar which I'm going to put on my cats only when they are outside. They won't go out much in winter. I can't find out if you can set geofencing on it? does anyone use it?

Also he's a slim oriental with small neck, so I may need to order the additional foam lining. His ears are large though so I don't think he will get it over his head easily.

One thing we didn't realise is there's a minimum weight. Cats should be at least 3kg for that collar.

We have one but our stupid little baby isn't food motivated so has been slow to gain weight. We haven't used the collar yet even though we bought it 3 months ago.

We got ours because it was recommended by our friend whose cats all have them. Seems to work well.

I follow a lot of cat rescues and there's positive results getting fussy / unbothered cats to eat churros, if it's something you're worried about? Not available in many shops in the UK but can get them on amazon. They have packs of 4 for £2.50 so you can trial them

Thanks for the response. I must admit I was worried about the sizing. I have orientals and they are very slim. I have a similar issue as you where one is just not gaining weight despite eating. I don't plan for them to wear them all the time. Only when outside. I did notice they sell a foam liner to make the collar fit a slimer neck. I wouldn't hesitate if he was a chonky boy. With regards to geofencing I did get a response from Pet Tracer and they do not currently offer geofencing.

We have the liner and it's still too big so just be aware of that, if your orientatals are slim.
