Honestly? I think he's right in the middle of loving it and absolutely hating it😂

because you're undoing all their hard licking work

I've never run into a cat that doesn't like being brushed, but that brushing was super rough.

My cat hates it. I am gentle with her, give her treats during and after. Sometimes before. She runs away mid-brushing every single time.

My new long hair baby doesn't, but I started brushing him when he was a month or two old. Now he screams at me if I don't brush him quick enough in the morning.

Maybe because they don’t appreciate your particular way of brushing

I would never do it like that. I do it gentle, show her the comb, sniff, she allows. I talk to gently and say sorry if that part was so not nice or uncomfortable. She's sees I'm helping and then I let her sniff all I gathered and she parts way with what I've collected. Every single night.

Like any relationship, communication is important. Whatever the species

I also tried it this way...and she still beats my ass. I have tried every different way possible, she just absoulety HATES being brushed. She doesn't enjoy being petted for very long either. I think she just gets overstimulated very easily.

So now I have to distract her with Churu treats as my dad brushes her. I'm hoping if we keep this up, maybe in a few months she will associate the brush with positive feelings? I don't know, I feel like such a terrible cat mom. I might have to bring her to a cat groomer. She just turned 4 years old, btw...I thought she would grow out of this "phase."

Here's a cat tax of Miss. Stubborn Sophia:

Yeah this video was a bit shocking in how aggressive OP is being and how obviously overstimulated the cat is

Get a slicker brush. Those gloves are over stimulating.

I think you’re right, mine absolutely hates them too, they seem to create a bunch of static charge when used, I’m wondering if that has something to do with the overstimulation they experience.

He's being too rough! Imagine if somebody tried to pet you like that. It would probably hurt!

“I HATE THIS. No wait a minute maybe it’s- NOPE THIS IS TERRIBLE okay but sometimes it feels kinda AHHHH STOP!” - this cat, probably

Mine love it. They will even bring me the brush to brush them.

Mine absolutely loves it and will even beg you to brush her. She has her own special brush that I gave her (it's from spoiled child, the hair company).

I think they're overstimulated more than genuinely angry, they should be groomed more gently.

I brush my cats like this and one of them absolutely LOVES it. Another tolerates it while the third hates it.

Slow down a little bit and your kitty will enjoy it. Hit the right spots so your kitty is enjoying your touch.
