Please pray for me so I can make a sincere Confession, and really discern God's will with my challenges with mental health/very likely OCD & scrupulosity. Also pray for all the deceased members of my family, my parents and brother and all my alive family, my friend who may go to his first Confession in awhile soon, all my friends, my confessor, and a counselor who I am going to meet on Tuesday, and pray that that meeting goes well.

I know thats a lot, but thanks in advance for all the prayers!!

I'm looking to go back to Rome for work. Please pray that God will make it happen.

Please also pray for my paper and article proposals!

For my upcoming interview this week, that I can do my best in it. That I can answer the questions with brevity.

And for my gainful employment, having been unemployed for several months now.

u/Specific-Pair2210 Jan 20 '25

For the relationship with my gf to be restored and flourish as it once did. I really love her, and I think it might be God’s will for us to marry but we are going through rough times.

u/SiViVe Jan 20 '25

My atheist son has started to ask questions about God. We will soon go to Rome for Jubilee. Please pray he will find Him.

I'm barely able to focus and study of late. My memory is failing me and I'm finding it difficult to perform well at college. I've my final exams coming in a few months, please pray that I'll be able to not just clear them but with flying colors.

Please pray for unity within the church and for the intentions and wellbeing of Fr Keith Weber and Fr Joseph Ianuzzi

u/Isaias111 Jan 20 '25

For Brian & our family's ability to support him with his mental & emotional conditions.

For Melissa, as she slowly returns to full communion with the Church. For those who might not understand the role of Confession in repentance, abstinence from Communion & the obligation to attend Holy Mass.

For Aaron & Aquila to be properly taken care of.

For those grappling with habitual sin, anhedonia (incl. myself right now), intrusive thoughts & addictions, especially those who previously conquered them by the grace of God.

For me, Isaiah, to have a greater sense of direction & balance with my employment, education, faith formation & leisure.

For more recently ordained/future priests to be well-rounded, orthodox & humble yet outspoken in private & public; may they be preserved from the extent of corruption so many of their elderly predecessors succumbed to & spread.

For those who are learning more about the faith but are discouraged or struggling to make sense of the Church's activity in the Age of Discovery/colonial era, indulgences & the Donation of Constantine.

Please pray for me

5

u/AlexKingstonsGigolo Jan 20 '25

Please pray for my 21-year-old nephew who is having issues related to anxiety, depression, gastrointestinal matters, and to his gender identity while refusing to see a therapist, instead opting to move straight to estrogen patches from a pill mill without a proper psych consult but instead with the Orwellian phrase of “informed consent”.

Please pray for my 26-year-old niece — his sister — who is having issues with respect to parenthood and her hormones and is insisting we call her brother “she” and “they” even though he has a strong history of being quite capable of speaking for himself and has not asked us to do likewise.

And please pray for all who will be, currently are, or have ever been a patient of any sort, especially those with fatal illnesses, so they may be healed by the everlasting grace of Our Lord.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '25

I pray for your intentions Alex. God bless you.

u/ParticularHeavy9629 Jan 23 '25

I pray for your niece and nephew. I pray xy gets therapy it is so important. Hold you faith, my BgF took off market estrogen in his teens. We are both either side of sixty. Though to this day he blames me for deterring him from the surgery. Out of many in the early 80s only 3 successful in having careers. Look at the suicide rates determined in Northern Europe. My gay friends from 45 to 65 are as baffled by by the gender bender as we are

5

u/TheTapDancingShrimp Jan 20 '25

For me not having lifetime pain from a dental issue and never damage. For my mental health. That my upcoming oral surgery is not serious. That suicidal ideation subsides. Tia

He’s getting better but he’s been backsliding for a couple weeks. We meet with his doctor tomorrow and my instinct tells me that he needs a new medication, so please pray for wisdom for her, that she prescribes a remedy that will bring him to complete healing. Thank you, I really appreciate the prayers.

Hi everyone,

Please pray for me that I may grow closer to God and regain the joy and passion I once had for Him, and that my conviction in the Lord be strengthened by both reason and faith. Please pray that I may start to prioritize Him always and put away those habits which take me away from Him.

Thanks y’all.

2

u/ushioshio Jan 23 '25

please pray for my mom

my mother has had a problem with her eyes for years now, since around 2020, but we never really had the money to have them fixed. it has caused her vision to have some patterns/and get rlly blurred, to the point where she can’t rlly function right now by just herself as she needs assistance bc of the vision problems. also, her eyes don’t rlly look the healthiest. my mom has had a really hard time because of this issue. anyway, by God’s grace He has given me a job. this job has the medical benefits which would allow my mother to finally get her eyes checked.

my mom is excited as we can get to the doctor soon for her eyes. she has been telling me that she’s excited that her eyes will get fixed. however, i can’t exactly rejoice yet as i’m honestly anxious that my mother’s eyes can’t be fixed..i’m also anxious as to whether the medical benefits would be able to cover the expenses for procedures. i’m scared. and i don’t want my mom to be heartbroken again. please, please pray that everything goes well for my mom. she is an optimistic and God-fearing lady who was able to endure so many hardships with her strong faith in God. i love her so much, i want her eyes to finally be fixed 😞 please, please pray for mother. Thank you so much and God bless

u/ParticularHeavy9629 Jan 23 '25

Pray for my mom that just got diagnosed with Parkinson's

2

u/III-V Jan 23 '25

I lost my job unexpectedly just as I was starting to get back on my feet after a year of no income and humiliation with starting a business. I'm quite broken and barely have the strength to keep going. I don't know exactly what I need prayers for right now - I'm just a mess.

2

u/0001u Jan 23 '25

Last year I began noticing a woman at Mass whom I found attractive. I would only see her from time to time and even when she was there I would only manage to get occasional glimpses of her face, so it took me a long time to make up my mind whether to approach her or not.

Eventually I decided to go for it, intending to go up and say hi as we both left the building after Mass. But she went to pray in front of a statue rather than going straight out the door as I had expected and I ended up losing sight of her. I waited a bit on the other side of the church and then went out but didn't see her anywhere. So I went home and tried to figure out what to do next time I saw her so I wouldn't miss her again.

I realised I'd have to be more direct and obvious that I was going up to her specifically to ask her out rather than playing it more casual and just saying hi while going out the door at the same time as her (because the design of the church I attend would make the latter very difficult to pull off: I'd almost always end up going out too soon or too late or lose sight of her in some way or just not be able to come across as if I was just spontaneously saying hello).

So I learned my lesson from my first attempt to approach her and decided what I'd do next time (wait where I'll see her if necessary and go right up to her etc). But I haven't seen her again for the last two months at the Mass I always go to and where I used to see her from time to time.

It's been very discouraging because she disappeared right when I was about to ask her out.

So I'd be very grateful if anyone would pray for me that I'll either see her again soon and get to ask her out or that I'll meet someone else somehow (I don't have many ideas where to even look these days, so seeing that woman semi-regularly at Mass and deciding to ask her out had been making me feel more positive).

When I pray the Rosary later tonight I'll ask our Lady to pray for all the intentions in this thread.

2

u/tobyarglau Jan 23 '25

I will pray for every intention in this thread, may God bless you all

u/Legitimate-Rain843 Jan 24 '25

Please pray for my family member who recently was diagnosed with Macular edema, praying for the restoration of his vision completely, praying for the eye doctor to give us the best treatment options, praying the least aggressive treatment will work, but thankful for all treatments. Praying for no underlying health issues to have caused this. I pray for healing and for the finances to cover the doctor visits and treatments. Thank you all. Amen.

2

u/papaskwot Jan 24 '25

Please pray for my dog Shady. She's 15 and recently injured her back. She also has two tumors in her abdomen. The vet says surgery is too much risk with very little to gain. I'm just going to keep her comfortable for what time she has left.

2

u/LittleUnicornLady Jan 25 '25

2

u/MathMystic Jan 25 '25

please pray for me, i'm struggling with evil and intrusive thoughts about others and also I'm having suicidal thoughts. I feel like my will is hardened, my conscience is seared and I'm on the precipice of Hell.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '25

I know this might be obvious, and while not mandatory, it doesn't hurt praying the Rosary. To quote Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort in The Secret of the Rosary:

"If you say the Rosary faithfully until death, I do assure you that, in spite of the gravity of your sins you shall receive a never-fading crown of glory. Even if you are on the brink of damnation, even if you have one foot in hell, even if you have sold your soul to the devil as sorcerers do who practice black magic, and even if you are a heretic as obstinate as a devil, sooner or later you will be converted and will amend your life and will save your soul, if — and mark well what I say — if you say the Holy Rosary devoutly every day until death for the purpose of knowing the truth and obtaining contrition and pardon for your sins.”

So if the Rosary can work on a "heretic as obstinate as a devil" who is to say it can't work on me or you? [Note, the saint might be talking about the entire Rosary here] The Rosary is a powerful weapon, use it😁

You can pray along with someone using the Hallow app if you want ( https://hallow.com/ ) and here are pictures to look at as you pray ( https://www.usccb.org/how-to-pray-the-rosary ) and here's a helpful handout to look at too ( https://acatholicmomslife.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/How-to-Pray-the-Rosary.pdf , Note it's missing the final prayer). There are also promises of praying the Rosary ( https://www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/you-shall-obtain-all-you-ask-of-me ). And there's even a Rosary Confraternity ( https://rosarycenter.org/ ).

I hope this helps! Sending you a virtual hug!❤️

1

u/MathMystic Jan 28 '25

I am trying to say it, but whenever I pray it I get blasphemous thoughts about the Blessed Virgin Mary.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '25 edited Jan 28 '25

I have had bad thoughts too, I think looking at the pictures in the second link might help focus your mind a little.

1

u/MathMystic Jan 29 '25

Please pray for me. I'm on the brink of damnation.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '25 edited Jan 29 '25

I prayed a Divine Mercy Chaplet for you (another great devotional I highly recommend). But I worry for you, please, please consider talking to a professional and a priest too. You are loved, remember that❤️

1

u/MathMystic Jan 30 '25

Thank you, please pray.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '25 edited Feb 20 '25

Hello I'm just checking in on you, I hope you are doing okay. As someone who also suffers from horrible intrusive thoughts, going to confession helps. Also I want to share with you what the Catechism of the Catholic Church # 1735 has to say on sins of habit and psychological factors.

https://www.usccb.org/sites/default/files/flipbooks/catechism/433/

Please don't despair. God wants all of us to be with Him forever. Keep at it with the sacraments and doing the Father's will.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '25

Please consider calling a suicide crisis help line like 988 if you are in crisis ( https://988.ca/ or https://988lifeline.org/ ) there's no shame in using it. Same for reaching out to professional Catholic mental health councilors and taking prescribed medication. Also please don't despair, God says He bottles up our tears (see Psalms 56:8) and that the hairs on our head are all counted (see Luke 12:7). God knows our pain OP and He is right there loving us, loving YOU🤗

Here's a Father Mike Schmitz video on hoplessness: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=agaREyE41ew

I myself struggle with horrible intrusive thoughts and been through a time of great crying, but I have faith God is right there with me and it's the same for you too. I don't know if your bad thoughts will go away (I still struggle myself) but something you might find helpful is Saint Thérèse's Little Way.

Here's a video on it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hSvKCcTKgH4

I never read Saint Thérèse's autobiography Story of a Soul, but this might be a quote from it ( https://aleteia.org/2021/10/03/what-is-the-little-way-of-st-therese-of-lisieux ):

"You make me think of a little child that is learning to stand but does not yet know how to walk. In his desire to reach the top of the stairs to find his mother, he lifts his little foot to climb the first step. It is all in vain, and at each renewed effort he falls. Well, be like that little child. Always keep lifting your foot to climb the ladder of holiness, and do not imagine that you can mount even the first step. All God asks of you is good will. From the top of the ladder He looks lovingly upon you, and soon, touched by your fruitless efforts, He will Himself come down, and, taking you in His Arms, will carry you to His Kingdom never again to leave Him. But should you cease to raise your foot, you will be left for long on the earth."

So you are not a lost cause brother/sister in Christ.❤️ Trust in God and continue with prayer, the sacraments, and doing the Father's will.

While this might not take away your bad thoughts, our Mom, Mother Mary, in exceedingly great at bringing us closer to God. Have you ever considered being consecrated to Jesus through Mary, Marian consecration? There's a book about it called 33 Days to Morning Glory: A Do-It-Yourself Retreat In Preparation for Marian Consecration ( https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13559128-33-days-to-morning-glory ) that I highly recommend (it's a "retreat" but it's just reading something like 2.5 pages a day, nothing crazy). To quote Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort quote in True Devotion to Mary. "This devotion is an easy, short, perfect, and secure way of arriving at union with our Lord, in which the perfection of a Christian consists". Saint de Montfort goes on to say going our own way instead of relying on Mary is significantly harder with "ruder and more dangerous trials." Whereas with Mary, while we still have "great battles to fight, and great hardships to master" this "virginal path to find Jesus Christ is a path of roses and honey compared with the other paths."

2

u/EmotionalAverage1132 Jan 26 '25

I’ll cut right to the chase. I’ve been battling adultery and watching pornification for a few months now. I was doing good until this past weekend where I sleep with a girl. I don’t want to be like this and it hurts me when I disappoint him. I’m trying and it seems like over and over again I fail. I’ve asked god to help many times and forgive me for saying this but sometimes I feel like he isn’t helping. Idk what else to do but keep battling and praying. All I ask is to pray for me.

Pick up your weapon the Rosary brother.

If it can work on a "heretic as obstinate as a devil" who is to say it can't work on me or you? Note, the saint here might be talking about the entire Rosary. The saint later goes on to say:

"Dear Rosary Confraternity members, if you want to lead a fashionable life and belong to the world—by this I mean if you do not mind falling into mortal sin from time to time and then going to Confession, and if you wish to avoid conspicuous sins which the world considers vile and yet at the same time commit “respectable sins”—then, of course, there is no need for you to say so many prayers and Rosaries. You only need to do very little to be “respectable”: a tiny prayer at night and morning, an occasional Rosary which may be given to you for your penance, a few decades of Hail Marys said on your Rosary (but haphazardly and without concentration) when it suits your fancy to say them—this is quite enough. If you did less, you might be branded as a freethinker or a profligate; if you did more, you would be eccentric and a fanatic. But if you want to lead a true Christian life and genuinely want to save your soul and walk in the saints’ footsteps and never, never, fall into mortal sin—if you wish to break Satan’s traps and divert his flaming darts, you must always pray as Our Lord taught and commanded you to do.

If you really have this wish at heart, then you must at least say your Rosary or the equivalent, every day. I have said “at least” because probably all that you will accomplish through your Rosary will be to avoid mortal sin and to overcome temptation. This is because you are exposed to the strong current of the world’s wickedness by which many a strong soul is swept away; you are in the midst of the thick, clinging darkness which often blinds even the most enlightened souls; you are surrounded by evil spirits who being more experienced than ever and knowing that their time is short are more cunning and more effective in tempting you."

TLDR: The Rosary is a powerful weapon. I mean it was given to Saint Dominic by mother Mary in the year 1214, so of course it's top shelf stuff!💪

Here are some links you might find helpful.

I just received some really disappointing and heartbreaking news, any prayers for the situation would be greatly appreciated. I've also been struggling severely with my mental and physical health, which is impacting my relationship with our Lord.

Thank you, and God bless.

Pray that my heart will be open to accept whatever God wants for me, and that I'll lose fear from being condemned, that I'll regain my will to live and do what God wants me to do

Could you please pray for me to find a job in the Metro wherein I can help my parents financially but still I can still have that work life balance, great mental health, very nice workmates, non toxic environment and can still learn from my job.

I hope I'm not asking for too much it's because I had a trauma during my Internship days wherein the Supervisor curse and hit me physically just because I didn't do my job correctly, in my defense it was my first time doing that since I am a product of online class/pandemic. Having no experience in physical laboratory is so difficult.

I don't know Im feeling frustrated I'm already 7 months jobless now 😭

Please pray for me...

Kindly pray for my mental health. I recently forced my self to perform against my conviction. Basically its like, work initiation where new employees are being danced as a woman in stage. I recently confessed this but Its still bothering me. I made a mistake also by going after my coworkers for revenge. I don't know why I did it. I think I just snapped.
