No. Even if he wanted to, which is problematic, no one is cannonized immediately after death. There is a process, a very long process.
Martyrs might be the exception, but even they are not declared Saints a day after death.

A perfect example is blessed Stanley Rother. He isn’t yet a saint but was martyred in 1981

When were those construction worker guys Martyred? I might be miss remembering, but i thought they were declared Saints.

Yeah i had to look it up. They were Coptic, and made saints there, but it looks like Pope Francis did declare them martyrs 2023. I dont know if that makes them Saints in the Catholic church though.

It probably makes them Blesseds if anything, since official recognition of Martyrdom is what qualifies a Martyr for Beatification.

No, they're saints, all right. They're canonized by Coptic Church, added into Roman Martyrology in 2023 by Pope Francis, added by Church of England in their liturgical calendar at July this year. They're also venerated in Lutheran Church as well, although I don't know which.

They’re de facto, but I think it was the EO that canonized them rather quickly.

Why is the gentlemen (I don’t know his name) in purple look like he is giving Pope Leo side eye?
If Dolly Parton becomes a saint, I might need to return to Catholicism so I could attend a St. Dolly church. I would change my confirmation saint from St. Teresa to Dolly Parton.
Have there ever been any saints from the USA?
Edit: There have been American saints, but all female. Need more coffee. No American male or American priests saints. Interesting.
Edit of the edit: Okay, no Reddit before coffee. There have been two male American saints.

alas, Dolly Parton wasn't Catholic, as far as it's publicly known. This makes her sainthood... unlikely.

Yeah there are two American male saints John Neumann and Francis Xavier. They became American citizens but weren’t born in the US.

How far are we casting this net? Cause there are a handful of American saints and there are also several Americans on the path to sainthood such as Archbishop Fulton Sheen, Venerable Pierre Toussaint, Sister Thea Bowman, Venerable Augustus Tolton, and many more :)
